The Navteq 7 maps are the latest and are meant to be pretty good from what I can find. Also they are owned by Nokia.. I am pretty sure.

So a bargain GPS for those that want to know where they are going on a budget :)

Is this really a worthwhile buy? I was thinking of getting one for my brother as a surprise.

I was going to say - who'd buy something like a GPS navigator from a place like Aldi where people even refuse to do their grocery shopping, but nod you have changed my perspective on it. Is this a one day thing so that people will be lining up early?

    Hmmm, what to do...

    :D
I don't have personal experience with this GPS but I had a look around on a few other forums and there generally seemed to be a favourable opinion on this model. And it is german is it not, so you expect that it is ok :)

Do my shopping for all the basics at Aldi all the time Leny so not sure why people don't like them. But re the sale items like this navigator usually they start Thursday morning and if it is a hot item then yes, best to get there early. Have seen queues some Thursday mornings before they open for hot priced items and they don't usually last long.

i agree with crafty :) i do my grocery shopping and not only in Aldi and i like their products. i discovered recently some salad dressings and asian sauces that i love. i think Aldi has good products even though some people might think that are not so good quality because of their prices....

One of the computer systems they had on sale got a really good review and husband who is in the computer industry mentioned that so I guess it just depends on the product.

Have been shopping there for ages for things like milk, bread tea, coffee, etc. but only recently discovered they have Aussie tins of chopped tomatoes for $0.59 - even cheaper than when on special at Coles & Safeway so a huge saving for us since use these all the time in cooking.
