I have heard mixed review about the drives however US guys (AVS Forum) love it because it's extremely quiet for home entertainment usage (media pc).

I personally went with Western Digital Drives, WD5000AAKS instead.

I have an HP laptop and it uses a Seagate ST9808210A which shows its age eh :D Must be in the newer models they're using Samsung :)

Western Digital is the brand I prefer, it's good to have a wide choice though :D

I've had the same thing with them. Several maxtors have gone pear shaped on me. Great price but crap quality.

    Using Three Seagates now.

you'd be running out of slots about now I suspect :D

I've always had the opinion that western digital are good. Having said that I recently bought the Iomega 500 Gib external in favour of the WD only because the WD was more of a brick.
