Microsoft 25% On RRP Cashback on Hardware

This apparently has been around for a month now. But I didnt find any reference to this on these forums.
Expiry date:2008/01/31

Microsoft had one of the offers or something similar a few months back but I think it was linked to HT or something. But it was not a good offer anyway. But this looks a lot better.

What I like is this
PC Hardware only, does not include Xbox® Consoles or accessories for Xbox® Consoles. Cash Back amount is 25% off the recommended price of Microsoft® Hardware products. While stocks last. Claims must be received by 29th February 2008. Maximum of 3 claims per person. You are responsible for the cost of posting in your claim form. Cash Back will be electronically paid into your account.

Which means in theory if you found yourself a bargain somewhere which was way under the RRP you should still get the cashback of 25% on the RRP
But might to check the fine print carefully before I get too excited :D

Thanks Trevorf

I just checked out the first offer on the list - the Microsoft Wireless Entertainment desktop 8000 - popped it into Staticice

Cheapest price shows $322 at HT

But when you click through to HT lookie lookie what we find...
It is now $449 - exactly $322 + $115

I checked one of the next ones and the price stays the same - $355 Techbuy

But one thing to remember is:
purchase must be via an Authorised Reseller
Something we know HT is but not sure about Techbuy, so I recommend you ring the place of purchase before you take out your CC

Well, can read more into what other people have found at http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=832237, I'm not planning on purchasing any MS stuff, so I don't wanna read too much into it :P

so the 'Authorised reseller' does not apply then? Or does Microsoft just say they are all authorised resellers?

Have people actaully got there cashback yet?
If this works then it is an awesome find Trevorf

I just sent an email to Techbuy to ask - hopefully I will get an answer on Monday

is that based on the RRP we get the 25% back... or do they take the 25% from the purchase price we pay for?

I just called Microsoft they confirmed that 25% off RRP the same as they mentioned on the claim form.

They also told me that if you bought it less than RRP, it is a bonus for me and they will still cash back 25% off RRP. Any computer shop doesn't matter, no matter Harvey Norman, corner computer shop. I asked her how about MSY, she told me OK not a problem.

Just not from something like EBAY.

This probably is most helpful. So yah, what I mentioned before I guess is true (b4 I edited it :P ). Tax invoice, and Retail(not OEM) and you get 25% of RRP cashback.

That would be great. Thanks Trevorf for writing up the deal... very much appreciated :flowers:

I have been trying to find a list of authorised resellers on Microsoft but of course they have buried it rather well.
If you can pick it up elsewhere and still get it then this is a blinder of an offer

Me thinks I am being too cynical :D

But the thing HT pulled is just not fair practice at all!

:D - that whirlpool thread is making me laugh - amusing.
• nod2007/10/29 21:00:40
The email from Techbuy confirms that they are a Microsoft authorised reseller.
So this is great.

Thanks for the great deal post Trevor

Anyone scored themselves a bargain with this offer?
• trevorf2007/10/31 22:22:35
Was looking for a wireless mouse, optical/dual laser, I'm not liking MS's Notebook Mouse 6000 ... ain't track well. But most PC places sell OEM :(

*edit* So yeah, I wouldn't suggest single laser mouses atm.

That is a shame Trevorf.
I guess you do have until Jan 2008 if you are not in a hurry

Just a reminder that this offer is still on - well well worth more investigation since Trevorf dragged up the juicy details :)
