Are there any vouchers or coupons for this site that people are aware of (none listed on BuckScoop)?
• fairybelle2007/09/05 15:36:38
yeah I was also wondering this same thing i couldnt find any at all anywhere, but i ended up ordering anyway
• MamaK2007/09/05 15:59:18
There was free shipping a while ago but I think its finished
• ScarletRubies2007/09/05 16:20:56
Yeah, I ordered it too, maybe 2 minutes after I asked the question. :) It helps that there's a new baby in my (extended, social) family! ♥ Doing a happy love dance for the baby girl born on Saturday ♥

Yeah My little nephew is due on the 3rd of December... so i wanted this for him.
• nod2007/09/05 16:49:47
Great value if the items in the box would normally cost you $60-80
Luck of the draw if the items are good though I guess. Are they all different?
The offer is very much like a baby bag of pookie
• fairybelle2007/09/05 19:31:59
Has anyone ever ordered the pookie, I always wondered what you would get...
• lisss2007/09/05 22:34:44
The bag of pookie is usually really bad, but I don't think this one will be. The kinds of items they've had from those brands before are things like rompers from Target, little toys from Fisher Price etc. I would have definitely bought one if I knew someone expecting or with a new bubs.

Hey i jsut saw on the site this:

WOW. Yesterday was huge! We were all completely blown away by the overwhelming response. We are in a party mood, so we’ve decided to throw an extra item in every box, on the house! So that’s now 11 per box. WOOPEEEE!!!
• nod2007/09/06 18:07:01
I can imagine this went off. A very good offer from COTD

FOR those that ordered, be sure to come back and let us know what you got in your box!!
• jayne2007/09/08 23:19:32
Marked this one expired now :)
• admin2007/09/09 10:47:10
I havent seen any sort of coupons for COTD except shipping stuff. I'd like to think that they work on the priciple that their margins are skeletal and thats the reason why but I'd probably be a bit naive..:)
• MamaK2007/09/12 09:10:47
I'm hearing people are not very happy with this- for those that ordered what do you think?
• Sammyau2007/09/12 11:41:18
I have order one of these. hasnt arrived yet.

but another forum i'm on are NOT happy and taking it further. we had got some ok stuff from them before so ordered this. will be interesting to see what we get.

will list whats in it when it arrives.
• fairybelle2007/09/12 11:51:04
I havent received mine yet... whats inside?
• Brad2007/09/12 14:14:49
Have you got the confirmation email from then yet? They send you one to let you know it's been sent.
• ScarletRubies2007/09/12 14:44:32
My email said dispatched on the 7th. Generally, mail takes a week to get to me, so I would expect to see a parcel by the end of the week. I do hope I am not disappointed; I am prepared for it to be less than $80 value to me, but it had better be $80 retail value, and if a single product is a free sample type (my major concern) I will expect to return the box for a refund (she says, not even having looked at the return policy).

I'd love a link to the forum where people are discussing it?

Go for it ScarletRubies.
I would be interested in reading it
• nod2007/09/12 17:05:14
The thread has been removed ScarletRubies if it was the EB forum you were thinking of. Not sure why

:D bit of forum paranoia over the whirlpool action.....

makes me laugh - people are too scared about legal action and too ready to comply and bend. So long as whats being written is factual or has a basis in fact it can be published and no one can stop that.

In my experience there's always a million rabid little ninnies out there running around threatening legal action. They just need to be ignored.

Nod - I think ruby was talking about the reference sammyau made. And sammyau - post away if you have a link.

Collected my box this morning from the PO... not crazy ecstatic, but I am happy enough. Everything will be gifted, but that suits us as we're around a lot of fertile people!

We got:

A penguin hat (blue & green fleece with ear flaps); a neutral romper size 0000; 2 take & toss bottles; 2 take & toss insulated cups; a purple fuzzy thing, apparently from Hooley Dooleys; pack of 3 tie up bibs with cute prints; floaties aquanappies; plastic catcher bib; white & grey socks; "Hot Milk Teller" thermometer with handles for baby bottle; red & white fleece snowman scarf.

Of these, the (kind of cute in a March of the Penguins way) fleece hat and scarf are absolutely useless to me - being in the tropics! The other stuff I wouldn't have bought but I am happy with for the price. They are acceptable, useful, inofensive baby shower gifts. The one thing I am pleased to have & keep is the swimming shorts. We've used the Floaties brand with both kids, they retail at between $15 and $20 and we swim a lot. All the brands are decent, although a couple couple be found in the 2-dollar type shops.

Overall, I'd say 3 out of 5 - losing a point for being less useful for MY kids, and another point for the fleece.

Thanks for the write-up Ruby :)
• Brad2007/09/17 20:50:31
That picture sure brightened up this thread. ;) Thanks
• admin2007/09/17 21:14:28
:D - that catcher bib looks like its been designed so that food slides down the face and ski jumps off the leading edge.
• nod2007/09/18 00:31:24
There have been some people who have been seriously disappointed by the box. It does make we wonder that if you were able to get hold of the numbers, what percentage of people were unhappy with their purchase
• ScarletRubies2007/09/18 17:31:38
I wonder if those disappointed had higher expectations? If I was counting on 10 (11) items to be adorable and useful to me/my kids, I'd be disappointed too. But my expectation was that everything be a 'resale' item, not a sample; and that more than half would be 'giftable' to one of my friends and acquaintances. There is always someone around in my church or husband's office having a baby, and it is nice to be able to give a small, usable gift that doesn't cost a fortune.

I actually just found out from the Catch of the Day blog that I won an extra Baby Box (it hasn't arrived yet) because I posted the deal on the Nappycino forum. I also won a "runner up" prize in some weekly com (Catchacomp 792). I don't spose I've anything to complain about! (Except I really don't care for the polar fleece hat and scarf!).
