Posted By: normie, posted 2010/02/27 12:07
In a few weeks Jetstar are going to have an amazing sale to thank those who have applied for the new Jetstar MasterCard.

THOUSANDS OF $1 FARES will be available on selected domestic routes, exclusively for cardholders, those whose applications are pending and JetMail members who have applied. As well as other amazing sale fares on selected domestic and international routes.

If you haven't applied yet there's still time to get access to the sale. Just apply for a Jetstar MasterCard by midnight Wednesday 3rd March 2010 and they will email you a link in a few weeks so you can access the sale.

There is a $49 Annual Fee for this card.

I was tempted to post this a while back but didnt because I personally dont agree with what they are trying to do.

If you are thinking of applying for their credit card, if you do so by the 28 March (Sunday) you will also get a $50 flight voucher - I guess which will offset their $49 annual fee for the first year.

Means that if you think you can actually get a $3 flight (the server always crashes no matter how long I try or what internet browser program I use), you can pay the $49 for the card, get the money back with a flight voucher, get the bargain flight and then cancel the card before your year is up.

Or if you are REALLY sneaky, to get the $3 flights you just have to have submitted the application by the end of 3 March to get the flights. Doesn't mean you have to accept the offer when they accept your application! If you never activate your card then you never actually own it (or pay the $49 fee). That's if you're sneeky :w00t:

The idea didn't come from me though :whistling:

I know noshing! (think of either Manuel from Faulty Towers or Shultz from Hogans Heroes)

Rep added. Liking the idea  Banks are a rip off and these sorts of cc's rip you off even more. Even up the balance a bit. Companies only start these schemes to cream cash

The $50 voucher was only if you applied for the credit card before midnight 28 March, so you won't find it on their website anymore. I assume you only get the $50 voucher if you go ahead and use the credit card, not just leave the credit card in limbo and later cancel it.
