A good deal IMO, since I wouldn't sign up with 3 due to their very bad network in my area.

a $350 cap is hardly "massive" when the minimum cost for any call is 75c, a minute costs 80c, and an SMS is 28c...

the term 'cap' is total marketing spin, they should really be called 'floor' plans! the only way to sensibly use a cap plan is to subscribe to a plan that you know is way over your likely monthly usage...

also note that the Vodafone fair use policy is 1000 minutes a month for the 'free' offers, or about half an hour a day...

Yep totally agree, it's definitely worth while comparing it to other plans and working out what would be best for you based on what you'll use etc. It's a marketing spin that works well for some - I was trying to explain to my sister that her "cap" plan is not necessarily a bargain if the call costs are high, and of course she had no idea what her call costs were...

I still think that for $49 per month over 2 years with some calls included (would be enough for me), an iphone for "free" is a good deal.

I'd be a little worried about the 200 meg a month limit on the data. A good month in emails with a bit of browsing will see you tapping 200 easily.

Still - good phone. I've just downloaded an email searching app for mine - apple need to do some revision on their functionality now that the novelty of an iphone has worn off and there's a lot more competition in touch screen 3G phones.

yeah, it took me a little while to realise why phone companies offer cap plans, when they seem on the surface to offer so much more value than fixed plans...

you can be sure the phone companies have done their numbers well, and know they are making lots of money from people who go over their 'cap'...

do any providers have some kind of online system where you can check how much of your cap is left?

Well, a new iphone is going to be announced on June 8th. Carriers are just clearing stock.

the dock is no longer part of the deal... I procrastinated too long!

Only available on the $59 plan now. The $64 Buckscoop cashback we have on offer makes then deal a bit sweeter too :)
