BOGOF deal on Lindor balls @ Lindt Cafe Sydney - two for $1

Posted By: nod, posted 2008/09/27 21:19
Thanks to Auntiesocial for this deal which I am sure Sydney-siders are going to like. Apparently the Lindt cafe is having a sale where Lindor balls are $1 each but they also have buy one get one free!! Yippee!

Never been into the Sydney cafe but they have a load of different flavours and this is a bargain compared to the store price if you are buying in bulk
Apparently the sale is on until the end of September - so not very long

The cheapest way to buy these balls is the 3 packs. Generally they are about $1.29 for 3. You can, on occasion, get them for 99cents for a 3 pack. The larger boxes and bags cost more per ball.

I bought the 3pack Lindt balls for 99c from Coles last week.
    Only 33.3c each

Not sure if the offer's still on...

You can make the fondant stuff yourself at home with quality chocolate and cream. It is the same taste, texture, everything. So seriously yum-o.....

But I think the point of this is that the Lindt cafe sells other varieties and limited edition flavours! Yummmm! Pity there aren't any in Melb :(

They recently had the peanut butter ones at target in perth cbd.

Everyone I know loves these, but something about them - the sweetness, the texture... I don't know - something about them makes me physically sick when I try to eat them. :(

I do love most of their other chocolates though, especially the "Excellence" Mint & Chilli chocolate - yum! :)

You can make something similar with cocoa, butter and confectionery sugar as well. I haven't made it in years - maybe 10 years. But I have made the choc and cream stuff in the last 6 months and must say it is divine.

So easy, no need to order.

Break up choc, heat it slowly and gently in the microwave. Don;t melt all the way as it will keep cooking. You can always stick it back in, but if you overcook, that's it. It will still look mostly solid when it is ready to be stirred. Then stir and get an even consistency. This stirring spreads the heat out. Once you have done this, get some not cold cream and add it gradually until it is the consistency you want. It will get more solid with refrigeration.

You are now ready to sit in front of the telly with the equivalent of a 400 gram box of lindt ball. Spoon optional.

The saving grace for me is that I rarely have cream in the house. I have to buy it specifically and only do so a couple of times a year. It would then have to correspond to a time when i also had chocolate in the house. That would be a rare intersection. I have made it and it is beautiful and I was a shameless glutton. Fortunately for me the two items do not often happen to be in the house at the same time.

I did, however, use the optional spoon.

Making them homemade is sooo good!!
Especially the coles brand chocolate, it tastes just like Lindt but is much cheaper and you get more of it (250g for coles vs 125g for lindt)

And......as an added bonus....you don't have pesky things like wrappers to slow you down! :p
