Harris have finally got an ok price on something!
Not a screaming bargain but the cheapest I can find for a 1TB HDD - not sure why you would need something that big but...
The other thing the next best priced is a WD at $565.
In my mind WD have a better rep ... thoughts anyone?
When you consider the Buckscoop cashback you are paying about $533

  • nod2007/06/05 21:51:27
Ah we know you are a geektress diider
I know how many monitors you have at home!! :D
  • sandgroper2007/06/05 21:54:15
Price is fine but 1TB is too big for "all eggs in one basket" comes to mind. OK if you have that much data that you can afford to loose otherwise you need another one to back up to!

I tend to use 250Gb external drives for my movie clips and music, it spreads the load and risk! Also it leaves the main pc drives for the os and any programmes. This way I can back up the main pc drives using Ghost to 1 dedicated ext drive knowing that everything there is fairly safe while spreading the risk to the other 250Gb drives for stuff I dont want to loose but could get by if it did go bad.

    Good points Diider and Sandgroper
    Should price out 4 x 250gb and 2 x 500gb

I guess the 1TB is more likely to be for commercial use

And nod, u so do not know how many monitors we have in this household for 2 ppl :P
  • jayne2007/06/06 08:33:08

:D You are right I don't KNOW for sure... but I do recall you saying something about 4... but now you add the other person in to the equation..?...?
    Can I hazard a guess at 6 :w00t:
  • jayne2007/06/06 09:00:20
Are we going to compare monitor ratios!!

I have 4 for 2 people. So that is a 2:1 monitor ratio. (not counting laptop, as it's techniclly a monitor too...!)

But if we're talking inches, there is a cumulative inchiness of 82" (24+22+19+17) so that makes an inch ratio of 41:1.

    What's yours diider ??!!
  • nod2007/06/06 09:04:01
    :D :D :D

    comparing inchiness?
  • diider2007/06/06 12:53:21
7 monitors for 2 ppl excl latptops :P:P It adds up to... 137 inches in total. YAY TO GEEKINESS.. If it includes laptops, it's 184.4 inches..

Wait, i am really a geek!:(
  • jayne2007/06/06 17:31:19
Arggg I thought my house was bad!! You win diider.

By the way, geek is the new black ...

  • admin2007/06/07 03:54:53
:D a girlfriend with bigger hardware than the boyfriend.... love it.
  • nod2007/06/07 19:33:22
    LOL
A geektress with a bit of 'spunk'.... cool!

I can certainly relate. But our house has 34 inches for 2 people - 2 laptops only. And I am the one with a forum to run :D
