With Easter Sunday right around the corner, most supermarket chains are stepping it up with discounts on Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies and the like. I’ve scanned through offers at some of the major chains like Coles, Woolworths, IGA and Aldi and put together a list of the best buys.
Start Your Easter Egg Hunt At Coles
Easter is all about sending the kiddes on an Easter egg hunt and your search for the best deals on these babies should take you directly to Coles. Lindor Easter Egg Minis are going at $1 for 100g, making it the best price I’ve come across.
Coles also has fantastic prices on Cadbury mini egg bags which are going at 2 for $5. These come in a variety of flavours such as strawberry, turkish delight and white chocolate.
To top off these ‘eggtastic’ deals, Coles also has a 2 for $15 promotion on gift packs , you can choose from the Caramello Egg Gift Box,Marvellous Creations Gift Pack and the Cadbury Favourite Eggs Gift Pack among others.
If it is adorable chocolate bunnies that you are after, then you can get the best bang for your buck at Woolworths where it is 25% off all Easter bunnies. There are some affordable options like the Woolworths Select Bunnies in a variety of wacky designs which are going at a dollar a pop!
If want to splurge a little on some extra special bunnies, Woolworths also have options from Ferrero and Kinder going at $4 each. The crème de la crème is a 28cm tall Gold Indulgent Chocolate Bunny made from fine Swiss milk chocolate, for $35. Woolworths also has a range of baking items on sale just in case you’re thinking of whipping up your own cakes and chocolates to celebrate the day. The online store has some great recipe options. There is also an active promo code for free shipping with a $150 spend, so if you want to beat the crowds and have all the goodies delivered to your doorstep- Woolworths is your pick.
However if you are looking to maximise savings, the cheapest price for 125g chocolate bunnies was over at Aldi where they are just 99cents each.
For party favours and gift items, I found that Aldi had a pretty good selection at reasonable prices. This includes a chocolate egg and mug set for $8.99 and 120g packs of Angry Bird eggs going at $2.99- these are going to be popular with the kids.
You can’t have a party without an egg and spoon race and this Milk Chocolate Egg & Spoon Race Kit will help you out. It is just $4.29 and comes with all the materials that you will need plus badges for the winners. Another perennial Easter favourite are hot cross buns and Aldi has got the price to beat with Bakers Life Hot Cross Buns going at $2.49 a packet or just 42 cents a bun!
Easter is definitely a good time to be a chocoholic and with these great deals there is absolutely no excuse for not having a great weekend party.
