Tiger airways pay to go home for $1 promo (+ actual example prices)

23 January 2013

Valid until the 28th of the month, Tiger Airways are running a promo where you buy a return ticket and the return section is priced at $1. I suspect these are very limited tickets so get it quick. There is some risk there, given that your booking is for way ahead of time and being a budget airline Tiger may or may not still be operating at flight time.....Dont go in there expecting full service and if something goes wrong with your flight your better off buying a new ticket than trying to sort it out with them.

Terms of the deal are that you've gotta select a round trip, on a valid route for travel between 23/07 and 18/09. The return leg will be shown as $1. If its not then its either sold out or not included in the promo. You have a $9 charge on credit card fees and the return leg must be on a Tuesday or Wednesday. School and public holiday dates are blacked out. If you use a mastercard debit to pay you avoid the $7.50 card charge. There is a booking fee of $17 which is a bit scummy but thats just one of their charges - which again you reportedly avoid if you use the mastercard debit. Infants will cost you $30 and no the mastercard debit rule doesnt apply there.....

Routes with the $1 associated are listed at http://www.tigerairways.com/au/en/real_deals.php

Some actual example ticket prices.
Melbourne - Sydney return $41
Melbourne - Perth return $111.
Sydney - Adelaide return $81.90
Brisbane - Sydney - $72.95 (inc booking fee)
