The Qantas sales are on and I've noticed that some of the Singapore deals are really good, especially towards the end of September. Oddly enough, if you fly out of Melbourne, the outbound trip is a little less expensive - but the inbound direct flights are completely booked up, or super pricey.
The best prices I found were if you make your Qantas flight booking from Wednesday, the 25th of September, coming back a week later on Wednesday, the 2nd of October. There's a direct flight from Sydney at 09:40 in the morning which arrives in Singapore at 16:00. This flight has a super sale price of $497 per seat, and a "saver" fare of $672. There is also currently an indirect flight option (via Melbourne) for $463 but as of the time of writing there are only 5 seats left so you'll probably need to be quick. It leaves at 14:30 and arrives in Singapore at 23:50. But for the sake of saving $34, I'd rather stick with the direct flight option. The best return flight offer is an overnight trip, leaving at 22:25 and arriving at 08:05. The price on that one is $433 for the sale seats, and $648 for the “Saver” seats. Great prices considering traveling back through Melbourne is several hundred dollars more. The other flights all have a stop in Brisbane and are more expensive too. So here the direct flight comes with the lowest price as which isn't always the case so I'm happy with this find. The 30kg baggage allowance per person with Qantas doesn't hurt either.
When looking for hotel deals in Singapore, I checked prices from Expedia, LastMinute, and Zuji where I found many of the deals to be very similarly priced. I did spot a standout deal though on HotelClub.com.au for the V Hotel Lavender in the CBD district. A 7 night stay at Expedia, LastMinute, and Zuji would cost you $992, $988, and $993 respectively. However, with HotelClub you'll only need to pay $909.73. To get this lower price though, you'll need to apply the "10% off" HotelClub promotion code found on Buckscoop's Vouchers page when making your reservation.
I like the look at the V Hotel Lavender. It has good guest ratings across all these sites, and has all the basics you'll need during your stay: hair dryer, iron and ironing board, a bar size refrigerator, cable tv and WiFi. If you'd like breakfast included, you are going to have to pay roughly $148 more during your stay, for a total price of $1057.61. For two people, that works out as an extra $19.61 a day for breakfast. Considering they have a breakfast buffet, it might be worth it just to be able to get a good meal in you before you hit the town.
There are other good deals. Zuji has a $868 deal at The Porcelain Hotel in Chinatown. This one is near Universal Studios, but guest ratings are quite a bit lower than the V Hotel Lavender. Both Zuji and Expedia also have a deal at the Hotel Re Pearls Hill in Chinatown for $1056 and $1055, but the quantities of rooms available are very limited. Lastminute has the same basic deal, at $1059. The V Hotel Lavender still wins in my opinion, not just because of price, but because they include complimentary bottled water, a fitness room, and an outdoor pool, none of which can be found at the Hotel Re Pearls Hill.
In summary then, for this deal you're looking at flight costs of $930 per person, plus $909.73 to stay at the V Hotel Lavender. If you're looking to travel as a couple, that's a total outlay of $2769.73 for a week's stay in the vibrant city of Singapore with return flights.
