Hasbro has just released L.O.L Surprise Monopoly, and it's not just the pinkness that has overseas fans swooning, it's the fact that in this game, players get to buy, sell and swap L.O.L Surprise dolls! If you've got collectors of all things L.O.L Surprise in your midst, prepare to see this one on your kids' wish lists very soon.
How to play Monopoly L.O.L Surprise:
In this seriously cute edition of Monopoly, players' tokens come in the form of L.O.L Surprise accessories.
Instead of buying properties, in this version players aim to acquire as many L.O.L dolls as they can as they make their way around the board. Players can swap and sell dolls as well, with the aim being to get their hands on the rarest of dolls, which are worth more.
The more dolls a player owns, the more rent they can earn and the higher their chances of sending the other players bankrupt and winning the game.
Chance cards are replaced with Surprise! cards (of course), and traditional houses and hotels are replaced with emojis and stars.
This game is recommended for ages eight and above. It's a little surprising that this wasn't created as Monopoly Junior edition with a younger age focus, but that said, I'm sure many kids under eight will be able to follow it.
What's in the box:
You get a gameboard, six tokens (packaged as "surprises"), 16 L.O.L Surprise Doll Cards, 4 Pet Cards, 18 Surprise Cards, 49 Doll Badges (comprised of stars and emojis), a pack of themed money, a die, and game instructions.
You can buy L.O.L Surprise Monopoly at Amazon.com for US$24.99 (approximately AU$36) and it ships to Australia. We will let you know as soon as we spot it in local Aussie stores - hopefully it's soon!
