While Aussie LEGO fans may be on the edge of their seats waiting for LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part to hit screens in the coming months, they don't have to wait that long to get their hands on the exclusive Welcome to Apocalypseburg set. VIPs can buy it now, and the general public can buy it from 1st February.
At $499, this is certainly a serious set, and with over 3000 pieces, it's kinds of a must-have for fans who love the movies as much as they do the bricks.
The set is recommended for ages 16 and above, although we all know there will be younger kids desperate to get their hands on it - and with features like the Statue of Liberty, who could blame them?
LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is set in Bricksburg, where everything is not awesome. The town has become a wasteland since the Duplo bricks invaded, and it's that post-apocalyptic setting that this massive LEGO set encompasses.
The set includes 12 minifigures, new to the LEGO Movie 2, including Emmet, Lucy, Batman and Green Lantern. There's a cafe, an office for Scribble Cop, rooftop diner, gym, armoury, tattoo parlour, and a three lookout platforms. There's even a chill-out room in the Statue of Liberty's head.
In terms of accessories, there are more than enough packed into this build. The coffee mugs are there of course, along with Lucy's quiver, and Chainsaw Dan's surfboard rack. There are condiment dispensers in the cafe, and even a deep fryer.
VIPs can buy it now!
If you're a LEGO Australia VIP (which is totally FREE to join, by the way), you can buy this set from the LEGO shop now. If not, you'll have to wait until the 1st February to get your hands on it.
This one is an exclusive, so you can only buy it at the LEGO Shop Australia. It ships FREE to all addresses in the country.
LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is set to release on 21st March in Australia.
