This year, Harry Potter joins the LEGO advent calendar lineup, and given how popular Potter-themed sets have been over the past few years, you can count on it being seriously hot property come the festive season.
The official word is that this will release worldwide at the start of September, so we expect pre-orders won't be far away - stay tuned!
Like the other LEGO advent calendars that fans have been clamouring to get their hands on every Christmas, the Harry Potter edition includes 24 windows and 24 gifts to build and play with.
There are seven minifigures in the calendar, and these include Harry, Hermione, Dumbledore, Ron, McGonagall, Flitzwick, and the Hogwarts Architect. There is also a Hedwig figure in the mix.
Mini-builds include the table of the Great Hall (complete with roast Turkey), a pedestal with house crests, a Hogwarts Christmas fireplace, and a mini Hogwarts Express train.
LEGO advent calendars usually sell between $39.99 and $49.99 in Australia, and while they are a lot more expensive than candy varieties, these kits have longevity well beyond 24 days. All of the parts are compatible with similar LEGO sets, so kids can add all 24 LEGO gifts to their existing collections for years of on-going and expanded play.
Other LEGO advent calendar themes usually include LEGO Friends, LEGO City and LEGO Star Wars - and they are consistently the bestselling toy-filled advent calendars.
