Where To Save Money With Online Wine & Booze Purchases This Week

Online booze and wine sales seem to have taken a competitive leap forward this year, with a steady flow of weekly bargains surfacing online. To kick this week off, I have done a quick roundup of what's happening in the online world of wine deals and which retailers your money is likely go furthest with right now.

$10 off Makers Mark Bourbon at First Choice Liquor

There's a First Choice Liquor voucher available here which gets you $10 off a 700ml bottle of Makers Mark bourbon. It's priced at $45, although once you've printed off the voucher and presented it in-store, you'll be able to get it for just $35.

The voucher is actually applicable at Liquorland too, although they're charging $4 more for this bourbon. At other online stores it would appear as if First Choice's original list price of $45 is the going rate on the market. This includes Dan Murphy's, Vintage Cellars, Woolies and Vintage Direct.

In my opinion, WineMarket is one of the most competitive Australian wine retailers online. Their offers are mainly geared around cases of six and twelve, rather than individuals bottles of wine. However, the discounts you can get by purchasing in larger quantities from Winemarket are often unbeatable.

While there aren't any active vouchers giving additional discounts right now, if you're a new customer you can signup to their newsletter to receive a $10 off code. They have also launched a " Tour de France reds" deal yesterday on a dozen bottles of 8 gold medal winning wines from around France for $99 (including free delivery). This case offers something for everyone with red blends of Merlot, Cab Sauvignon, Grenache and more. Also, at just $8.92 per bottle with shipping there's little reason not to make a purchase if you're looking to diversify your stock of wine with some quality French options.

Half dozen St Hallett Faith Shiraz (2012) delivered for $80 at Dan MurphysDan Murphy's are another wine retailer who appear to have stepped up their level of online competitiveness a few notches in recent months. Finding weekly specials at unbeatable prices on both wines and beers can easily be done these days.

For the rest of July, you can get free delivery to metropolitan areas by using this voucher code on all your Dan Murphys orders. Also worth taking a look at is this great offer on a half dozen bottles of St Hallett Faith Shiraz (2012) which comes with a free bottle of St Hallet Blackwell Shiraz (worth $36) for a combined total of $80 with shipping. Just the six bottles of the Faith Shiraz on their own (working out at $14.25 each) are cheapest that you'll find online. So combining these with a free bottle of the Blackwell Shiraz basically gives you a steaming bargain!

Cellarmasters mixed case of reds and whites for $69This wine merchant may not always be the most competitive, but every now and again they'll bring out a deal that captures the attention of the bargain-hunting community. One such example was a recent deal that appeared on Buckscoop towards the end of June for a mixed case of reds and whites at a shipping-included price of just $66.80 when making use of their 15% off voucher.

Before shipping that worked out at just $4.85 per bottle. By comparison, if you'd purchased the Shiraz's, Sauvignon Blancs and Cab Savs in this mixed case from either WineMarket, Dan Murphy's or Cracka Wines, you'd have ended up paying anywhere between $7.50 up to $15 per bottle. So keep an eye on their offers as Cellarmasters appears to be a bit of a dark horse at times.

Right now, they have an interesting Buy-2-Get-1-Free offer where if you purchase any two cases from this catalogue promo, you'll receive a dozen bottles of The Shipwright Langhorne Creek Shiraz (2013) from the 5 star Halliday rated Bleasdale winery. The blurb on this offer states that these wines are valued at $299, although I when tried to run a quick price comparison online I couldn't actually find them in stock anywhere else.
