Stack Booktopia's Free Shipping Promo with Existing Sales to Get Books Shipped From Just $1

16 January 2014

Since Christmas, Booktopia have been advertising their "up to 95% off" sale on books. But things got even more interesting when last weekend they announced a free shipping promo lasting until Sunday (19th January). There's no minimum spend required either, all you need to do is apply the promo code at checkout. Deal-hunter vikk has been rummaging through their website trying to see what bargains are available when stacking their sales discounts with the free shipping. And quite a few have come up.

Cookbooks:

If you're after some inspiration in the kitchen, Booktopia have a range of cookbooks available which you can get for less than $6 - delivered. Vikk provides a list of these in this deal, which I've also included below:

The main item of the deal mentioned above was actually for the popular cookbook "Asian After Work" by Adam Liaw. It's currently marked down on sale to $27.95. Elsewhere you'd be looking at paying between $36 - $46 including shipping on this book.

Fiction - Crime Thrillers:

Pantheon by Sam Bourne at BooktopiaVikk found another bargain in the Crime Thriller  category where it's possible to get Sam Bourne's "Pantheon" delivered to your front door for only a dollar. That's correct, just $1. While customer reviews suggest that this title isn't necessarily some of his finest work, at that price there's almost nothing to lose if you want to find out for yourself. This novel will cost you in the range of $12.50 - $26 to have it shipped by other online stores like The Nile, Fishpond or Riverbend Books.

Vikk also added that she saw "The Bancroft Strategy" by Robert Ludlum in the same category for $10.75, which has received a far better response from readers worldwide. In terms of the competitiveness of this deal, the book is priced at over $20 everywhere else making Booktopia's offer less than half the market price.

Kids Books:

Rise of the Guardians - BooktopiaIn Booktopia's general sales, you can find a number of children's books for under $5. Which of course with free shipping to boot makes it an opportune time to stock up - whether that be for instant use or as future stocking filler gifts. This "Rise of the Guardians" pop-up book, for instance, is going for $4.50. According to vikk that's over 80% cheaper than anywhere else she could find online. For example, Bookworld, The Nile and Angus & Robertson all had it selling for over $25 on their sites.

They've also got "Monsters University - The Junior Novelization", which my little one is a huge fan of, in paperback for the delivered price of $4.25. By comparison, the next best offer online for it is at The Nile and Fishpond who for $7.04 (shipped). While over at Angus & Robertson or Wheelers Books you'd be looking at a hefty $22.99.
