#whyspendmore Maybelline Eyestudio Tattoo for $9.99 at Chemist Warehouse vs. MAC Paint Pot for $35

Found a dupe for my favourite eyeshadow in the world.

Pick up the Maybelline Eyestudio Tattoo in barely branded from Chemist Warehouse for $9.99 which is almost identical to the $35 MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in soft ochre.

Both eyeshadows are matte and extra creamy and the lasting power and pigmentation is practically the same. You can wear the shades on their own or use them as a base for other shades.

Probably the main difference between the two is that the Maybelline one creases slightly faster than the MAC which doesn’t really bother me but if it is an issue for you, just apply an eyeshadow primer before you put the eyeshadow on.

Also, you do get 1g more of the product with MAC but even then the Maybelline one works out to be cheaper.

Final verdict - Maybelline’s Eyestudio Tattoo is totally the perfect dupe for the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot.

Hi Shazoo , Thanks for sharing however I honestly think this is not a fair comparison between Maybelline Eyestudio Tattoo [ $9.99 ] and MAC Paint Pot [ $35 ] as we cannot compare $373 Dick Smith 40'' TV to $675 Samsung 40'' TV although both TVs can get all available free to air channels in Australia. Maybelline Eyestudio Tattoo is $11.95 @ Priceline. That's a fair comparison. [ The same product ] Please shoot me , if I am wrong :) Thanks again for sharing. Have a great weekend Kind regards

Hi Earth and Shazoo :) My opinion on this deal is that Earth is right in the sense that a fair price comparison should be included in the original deal post on the same product. However, the point of the deal was probably to draw a comparison between a high end brand's product and a dupe for a fraction of the price - which is a pretty useful info for the community of bargain hunters on this page. Everyone knows that often you pay for the label only, but we need to know where to look for alternatives. The internet is full of bloggers comparing these makeup products and the conclusion is that most of you wouldn't even notice the difference if you remove these from their packaging. I guess it's a lot easier to do this with makeup than TVs, as electronics are (in my opinion) harder to compare. Saying that, no matter the category, if any of you ever come across any product which has identical features but one costs way less than the other, you're more than welcome to share with us. ;) So thank you Shazoo for the tip, and thank you Earth for your fair comment. Just to clarify, this deal is on Maybelline Eyestudio Tattoo, which is a dupe of MAC Paint Pot. The difference is that while the MAC would cost you $35, you can get the Maybelline one for roughly $10. Currently Chemist Warehouse has the best price on it at $9.99, followed by Priceline at $11.95. Btw, I've done a similar deal on Paula's Choice lipstick yesterday :D

Earth, you're far braver than I am by commenting on a makeup deal. :D Both you and vikk make some very valid points here. The one thing I'll add though is that I have heard my wife comment on foundation dupes as being as good or better than their high end counterparts (but costing far less). So this seems to be a theme in the world of makeup products.
