I was thinking of getting one of these trainers for the winter.
Besides not having to go outside when it's cold (haha), it's also a pretty smart way of saving your expensive tires or perfect for people who would like to do some spinning at home (given they own a bicycle of course).
The Minoura RDA80R Rim Drive Bicycle Trainer is on sale at Pushys for $129.99 with free shipping (was $419.95) and you could also apply the coupon for an extra $15 off.
A total of $114.99 vs. prices of $300+ elsewhere. Looking at other Minoura trainers, I couldn't find any of them for cheaper, so I think it's a great deal. The RDA80R model is compatible with both road and mountain bikes thanks to its patented RDA system (Rim Drive Action). It basically drives the resistance unit via rubber rollers to the rim side wall, not the tire itself.
