    This is an american retailer?

looks like it but ships to aus. The price doesnt look as attractive after you factor in the monthly subscription. Or if you opt out of the subscription the $200 discount offered is removed

Price, retailer, usefulness and ripoff factors (yes plural) aside - very interesting idea. The marketing blurb on that site is sooo slick that I've now read 5 pages and cant figure out whether everything on it is running under an ASP model (although I can guess that it does). I have figured out that it doesnt have a hard drive. Very smart. 5-10 years ahead of its time - but heck - if it was stable, was a bit more mobile and cost effective I'd get one.

The Laptop has a 60GB hard drive. The Desktop Mini has a 4GB Flash Hard drive, similar to the eeePC. It really is quite limited out of the box though due to it's custom OS.

A subscription that lasts 2 years ontop of your $279. So $279 + ($15 x 24) = $360 + 279. ($639 US) Covert to Australian = $726 cost over 24 months (this assumes the AU to US conversion rate stays as high as it is ATM. This figure does not even consider shipping which is ? Ontop of that how does service claims occur for us in Australia? Sheesh what a rip, consider this a cold from me!
