Refurbished MacBook Pro, 15-inch, 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo @ Apple $2609 delivered + cashback

18 July 2007

This is actually even better than the 17" above. I personally think the difference between 17 and 15 inch is negligible. You need to be a guru to notice it.

These are still selling in the $3100 range.

15-inch widescreen display (1440x900 resolution)
120GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive
6x double-layer SuperDrive
ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics with 256MB SDRAM
Built-in iSight Camera
Front Row and Apple Remote

You think that the refurb is worth it when you only save 500 bucks? I guess the refurbs are the only way to get a decent discount on the mas if you don't qualify for the student/education discount And I beg to differ about the 15 and 17"

Yea - I do reckon the $500 off is a good buy. The reason is that these arent necessarily some 1 year old clunker machine thats completely soiled. They can be anything but its probably likely that its a return (ie within the 28 day cooling off) or demo or something along those lines. Apple pull them apart and certify them so the machinery is fine and they come with a one year limited warranty - which is pretty much the same thing you get when you buy a newbie. Having brand spanking new isnt necessarily the most efficient use of your money. As soon as you open the box on a computer it drops its value, but the machine inside is still in perfect working order. Am I rambling enough :D Do tell about the 15 and 17 inchers :)

What do you think?
