Fuji F20 Digital Camera @ Officeworks $258

5 September 2007

This is supposed to be a pretty good little camera. Not top of the line in functionality but good entry to mid level.

The next nearest price is $295 with the average being $330 - $350, although if you dont mind taking a gamble its advertised for $211 at Ape Shop (http://www.apeshop.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2142).

We cant deeplink into officeworks so go into the 30% off part of the clearance section and its under tech products.

Fairly succinct review of it ]here. There's also a long rambly one I found but I dont think we'll go there. I got bored after page 10...

Yo, Admin! I got one of these from DSE online last week for $210.50 shipped. I suspect the DSE deal is still available - just go to ww.dse.com.au and do a search for F20. This is an excellent camera for taking indoor photos. Pictures come out extremely clean and pretty much noiseless at ISO 400 or below (almost as good as my Canon EOS 20D DSLR). I also have a Sony T50 which is a fine camera outdoors, but is pretty much useless indoors. In terms of build quality, I can't fault the F20, either, regardless of its price. It is as good as the T50 (for which I paid $550 in Feb).

I did a bit of a read up at http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/ and the general consensus is that the F20 is a great compact camera. I someone finds one for less than $250 inc. shipping, I'd seriously consider getting it myself. :)

Hey Scarlet, DSE is still selling the F20 at $199. Have a look ]here. Shipping is $12.50. Very good experience with DSE online as well. They shipped my order on the following day. Took 2 days to arrive. They ship via StarExpress, so you can track your shipment on their website. You should also read the F30 review on dpreview. The F20 is essentially the same camera with a smaller battery and a few missing features (ISO3200, aperture priority, etc). Check out the gallery to get an idea of the F20's low light capability and excellent pic quality in general. The only drawback is, the F20 only supports more expensive and slower (relatively) XD memory cards. I've got a 2GB one for $59 (from Centrecom).

I should have noticed your post above about the price - sorry for being a dipstick! I don't mind too much about the memory as we have a swag of XD cards from our Fuji dSLR - but I'll compare with the F30, too. Thanks!

Ta Natimuk - I vaguely remember you mentioning something about that. The DSE price is a heap better. I'll post it as a deal for you and expire this one.

What do you think?
