officeworks has it for $149 (Officeworks | Western Digital 1TB My Book Essentials External Hard Drive), so you can take advantage of the price match policy, taking it to under $120.

i'm a bit leery on the whole Western Digital MyBook range because of the special drivers you need to install to get all the features to work... most of the time those drivers work ok, but it's unavoidable that sometimes the drivers are incompatible with particular operating system versions, and cause whacky bugs... hard drives that don't need special drivers are preferable, IMO...

Yea I bought a NAS external drive a while back - cant remember if it was a WD or not but you needed their proprietary device and backup software to use it. It was a pointless piece of junk - as I couldn't be bothered trying to figure out how to get it to setup as a network device that could be backed up to by anything.

What do you think?
