A year or so ago this would have been an amazing price.... but you can get similar "brand name" sets for the same price or cheaper now.... for example Clive Peeters is selling a 40inch Sony for $1199.... or if you were planning on buying a PS3 at some time then you can always get one of the Sony models that are including them "free" so effectively would bring the price of the tv down. Would be warey of the term "LED TV" as they are still LCD tvs, but just use the LED for lighting instead of CCFL (fluros). It's not mentioned on the Aldi site/specs but I would assume that this set is ]edge lit that can have issues with consistent lighting. Me - I'm still umming and ahhing about a new set for the kids, but am probably going to go with my gut instinct and stick with a Panasonic plasma....

What do you think?
