Even so, this is probably the cheapest new monitor I've seen for sometime....

I have been in contact with the Dell display manager for Australia over the last couple weeks to try and arrange an awesome price on the Dell 27" LCD. Today the deal has gone live. The price yesterday was $1199 delivered with a discount coupon you could get it down to $1019 however for the next 4 days only its discounted to $799 delivered with 3 years warranty and Dells 0 Dead Pixel Advanced Exchange warranty.

Thinking about getting one of these for the kid's games room. Includes built in side loading DVD player plus plays movies (divx/avi)/music/photos from usb drives. Not a huge fan of all-in-one devices, but then again it should be easy for the kids to use so require less parental guidance - which is a good thing (within reason, of course!)

If you don't care about the dvd player & usb media support, then they have other units - for example an extra $100 will get you a 66cm led tv or a 80cm full hd tv (although frankly 1080i is generally fine for anything smaller than 127cm/50inch).

One membership pays for two cards used as photo ID's for entry and checkout.
You can bring up to two non-members with each visit but only the member can check out.
Membership is refundable if you are unhappy.
PARKING
Due to bulky items drive in with your BIGGEST car. Park at nearby Harbourtown and walk across. Harbourtown parking is free first hour then $5 for all day.
Official carpark is underneath Costco store - first two hour free then $5 per hour.
Those willing to risk a fine can park for free on the nature strip on the north side of Footscray Road.
SHOPPING & CHECKOUT
The place is massive - give yourself a few hours to shop. Be prepared to wait to pay (no express checkouts), up to an hour at peak times. Queues may be shorter closer to closing time.

****ATTENTION**** Most of the prices given here for electronic goods such as televisions are out of date. Due to the high exchange rate from AUD->USD Costco and indeed other electronic product suppliers have consequently reduced their prices. Although you cannot 'haggle' with Costco on their prices, from what I've seen you are sure to get a very competitive price.

If you are interested head to your local JB and get them talking to either drop the price or have them chuck in some extras.
You can get cheaper generics but with tvs I prefer to get a known brand

Donkey on 2008-09-09 07:51:32I very nearly bought one of these recently. Supposed to be a reasonable monitor. Had VGA and DVI. At 22" its big enough to work off.
I usually dont list deals like this where there is very very little between the 'cheapest' price and everyone else. But in this case Osmart's delivery cost is very very good @ $16.20 Australia wide. Brownie points to them.
That makes the delivered cost of the monitor a whole ten bucks more expensive than the undelivered price you get elsewhere.

They would seem to be customer returns under the zero dead pixel policy.
Price is cheap enough if you are willing to take a chance.
