5 Day Rated Ice Cooler Sale with Bonus Ice Packs Eg. 40lt $99, RRP $299 (and others)

10 January 2013

Looking for a decent esky with at least a 5 day rating (supposedly how long ice keeps) I found this site which has some decent quality ice boxes at cheaper prices than I found in outdoor shops. These are the heavy duty type with proper seals around the lids. Shipping is reasonable too.

5 day range:
40 litre $90 (6 icepacks) (similar in stores is around double that)
60 litre $129 (6 icepacks)
70 litre $174 (6 icepacks)
right up to 200 litre and combo deals

8 day range (stock expected on 20th)
45 litre $179 (6 icepacks) through to
110 litre

They even have some monster comercial ones up to 1100 litres for $1495! Good bulk buy deals too.

These prices would seem to be their regular ones and sometimes better via their selling on ebay.

Not to sound sceptical but I'd be mighty impressed if ice lasted 5 days in one...... having said that I was stunned by the difference between a crappy esky and a properly insulated expensive one recently in how long they kept things cool / ice intact for.

Not sure how they work out the rating - Coleman Xtreme, which are one of the better conventional type eskys available around here say this about it on their site - 'Coleman’s® Xtreme® range of coolers are able to keep ice cold for up to 5 days at 32ºC'. Probable translation - without opening it after 5 days there will be a grain of ice there. :-) As you say must be better than a standard uninsulated one though.

:p of course that equates to 'normal operating conditions'
