I don't think they would allow stacking of the 30% off coupon with the $10 for $75 offer. Anyone going to prove me wrong and go and purchase :)

There does not seem to be any restriction on using the discount voucher to purchase and then getting the vouchers to spend in January - or there are no restrictions written anywhere So if you buy the Seinfeld season using the 30% off voucher you can then get the $30 to spend in Jan 2008 Nice deal Lilpretzel

Thanks Nod :) Yes I too couldn't see any restrictions apart from when you must buy and spend the voucher. :)

O.K. I bought the Seinfeld set today with my 30% off coupon, so it came to around $245. I got a $10 voucher only though. When I queried this, they said you get one $10 voucher PER TRANSACTION, so since they can't split the box set $10 is the max you can get for this this purchase. Still a good deal though - hubby will be a very happy birthday boy in a few weeks :)

That doesn't sound right, it states PER $75 you spend not per transaction. I would be inclined to ring head office and question it. :)

smachel - I reckon lilpretzel is right. The terms and conditions state. Promotion Terms *Offer valid 29 October to 24 December 2007. Redeemable from 1-31 January 2008. Original voucher must be presented at the time of redemption. Not valid for Electronic Gift Cards, Special Orders and corporate orders. One voucher redeemable per item. Found at http://borders.com.au/giftcentre/promo-january-terms.asp and the promotion flyer pretty clearly states "$10 Voucher for every $75 you spend in store". I'd be ringing them and making it clear that its false advertising and you'll report it to the ASA.

and I'm with nod on the hot deal bit lilpretzel - I'll give you a hot.

That's what I thought it was going to be too - I was expecting the $30 voucher - but I just assumed I missed something in the information and that there was something written in the "conditions" about this. I'll have to give them a call ....
  • admin EDITOR
:D - I'd offer to do it for you but I might not pass for you....
  • smachel
Just called them and asked what would the voucher total be if I spent say $150 in one transaction. She double checked with another staff member, and said $10 - one voucher per transaction :( The offer, as written, is clearly misleading.

Thanks :) You could still call and ask generally ... "what if I spent ...?" I'm too much of a whimp to argue :(

You could still call and ask generally ... "what if I spent ...?"
Then they'd probably just tell me the same thing told to you. Sort of need a purchase to put them against the wall.

I would go back to the store with a copy of the voucher and ask them to read it again. It clearly states per $75 NOT per transaction. Borders are very generous with their vouchers but if they advertise something then they need to come good with the offer

What do you think?
