A word of warning to those trying to get this deal. I applied for a vodafone plan last year throguh the Buckscoop link thinking that I would be able to get the buckscoop cashback, however no cashback was applied. I even raised a ticket and contacted customer service but buckscoop just closed the ticket without offering me an explanation. Just be aware that there is a risk that you will NOT get your cashback and take it into consideration.
  • bigal
and for those that has no problems following the instructions provided by Vodafone4, I can attest to the fact that you do get your money back if nothing goes wrong. had received the cashback for the Nexus S from May, and previously from Three. so, just make sure your tracking's working.
  • queenshrew
I too have received in total 5 cashbacks from Buckscoop for Three and Vodafone. 4 were with Three (3 prepaid mobile data modems and 1 postpaid mobile plan) 1 with Vodafone (prepaid mobile phone) - best deal ever, phone was $99 and I got paid $84 via Buckscoop -- sadly they now only pay 10% for prepaid mobile phones. I always make sure I am logged in properly and my clicks track. If you have trouble, please read: http://www.buckscoop.com.au/help/

Wooo... Does this include $19 plan? $19 for nexus s. So I pay 19*12 -200 = $28. Then I get a phone and 12 month phone call credit? Is this the case? Unbelievable... ... My bad, need to have another 29*12 = $348 on this. So totally $376 for Nexus s with 2 years call.
  • bigal
does the extra 10% off for existing account holders stack on top of the $200 off?

I'm thinking it's risky using discount codes, as your cashback could be rejected by Vodafone. However, maybe nod or admin can shed more light into this. Personally, I would avoid using any codes to make sure my $200 cashback is properly paid out (doubt any codes you could find online would be anywhere close to the $200 cashback!) ;D

Hi all, excuse me for not knowing, but how do we claim the 200 cashback? I see a link to Vodaphone website but there isnt any information there.. I'm nervous seeing as a few people are mentioning they previous have not been given the cash back offers.. :-(
  • magichands
Ok, so people also keep mentioning to check that my clicks are tracked. What the heck does that mean? lol. I've read through the help, installed a dedicated browser (slimbrowser was suggested by buckscoop) but I don't see any methods of confirming that things are being tracked.. Help :-(
  • joseph7878
so do we need any particular browser to complete the $200 deal transaction with vodafone? if so which browser is the best to avail this deal? please anyone write here to understand the processand complete the purchase? the help and further informations is much appreciated.. cheers

Hello and welcome to all the new users :) First of all, make sure you are logged in and TICK the remember box that enables auto login as I found it makes my life a whole lot easier and helps my cashback trackings go smoothly. How do I check if my clicks are registering? The easiest way I have found to see if my clicks are registering is to go into: http://www.buckscoop.com.au/new-enquiry/ (This is also the place to submit an enquiry if after a few days your earnings has still not shown up in your earnings tab) Select the merchant in the drop down menu (in this instance, Vodafone Mobile Handsets) And you will see all the times you have clicked and it was tracked...! Also, make sure you have cookies enabled as that is how it tracks your session (for cashback) until you have checked through and made your purchase. It sometimes takes a day or two for your transaction to show up in your earnings tab here: ]http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e90/queenshrew/links.jpg Hope this helps! :) If you have any other questions, please post and I'm sure one of the more seasoned members or a mod will answer your question as soon as possible! p.s. I used to use firefox but now I use google chrome (both track fine for me, but my firefox started crashing a lot when I browse (wish they would fix it) so I have retired it...)

Hey all, I just joined - mainly because of this deal as it sounded too good to be true! I just called Vodafone to ask if they knew anything about this deal and their sales department said they have no knowledge of any $200 cashback via buckscoop. Can someone explain to me how this cashback works? Cheers! EDIT: I have just read the threads: new buckscooper (http://www.buckscoop.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=10682) ensure buckscoop cashback (http://www.buckscoop.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=2285) So my conclusion is that this is a buckscoop cashback and not offered by vodafone as an official deal - hence why I could not get the sales rep to give me info on it. I will follow the instructions and see how it goes! Should have done my research first :P but I was too excited!
  • bt34
If you have firewall, pop-up or ad-blocks, disable them before you click on the links. Pretty much disable anything that makes your internet safe. :whistling: :p I use different browsers for buckscoop purchases and for general internet usage. I use IE with low security setting for buckscoop and Firefox running ad-block, flash-block, pop-up blockers etc. Sometimes I forget, and use Firefox and it still tracks fine. :flowers: Make sure you COMPLETE your transaction online. If you change your mind during a transaction, clear your cookies and click the link from buckscoop again.
  • joseph7878

So HTC Desire Z is the cheapest? $160 after cash back?
  • bigal
I signed up to vodafone earlier in the year (May) with a Nexus S and received my cashback for that already. If I sign up for another plan now and login to my existing account on the vondafone website, will they still pay the $200 cash back?
  • admin EDITOR
If its a postpaid + handset plan there shouldnt be an issue with it needing to be a new vodafone account bigal but I'll double check.

I also signed up the HTC Desire Z on 12th. Still not my earnings. However, I went through to Vodafone and browsed from buckscoop on 11th, but didn't sign any phone. The 11th operation shows as my earnings. Not sure what is going on.

I am an existing customer with voda and I have signed up the galaxy nexus plan and they kept my original number. So my plan is an upgrade to my existing plan. However my transaction is tracked. Is that means I will get my 200 cash back? Please advice cheers

Signed up on Monday night. Still not tracked yet. Anybody got their plan tracked?
  • Bargrin
After signing in I click on the buckscoop cashback link for Vodafone and it takes me to Vodafone but the RAC partner site, where RAC give you 10% off for being RAC member. As its taking me to the RAC partner site does that mean the Buckscoop affliate link / tracking link is being over ridden by RAC and wont be getting me $200 cashback ? I am guessing I have to clear cookies in browser and do again, I thought maybe I could stack up cashback with RAC 10% off deal as well. This is where it takes me after clicking Buckscoop link: http://shop.vodafone.com.au/partner/rac?_requestid=65881

I think you need to clear your cookies. When I click on my Buckscoop link, it takes me to the normal Vodafone page. I am also pretty sure that with the 10% RAC discount, you will not get any Buckscoop cashback, as the sale will be listed as linked to RAC instead and not Buckscoop :(

Signed up on Monday night. Still not tracked yet. Anybody got their plan tracked?
I still haven't purchased my phone yet as I still couldn't decide between an iphone 4s or an android! (I had an original iphone but moved to android, but thinking of going back to Apple as I sold my Samsung Galaxy SII to dad, and am using my 'old' HTC desire that's driving me nuts with the lack of space on its hard drive!) - Thus I can't comment about how many days it takes to turn up as tracked in the Earnings Tab. Hopefully someone else will answer this soon. In the mean time, am keeping my fingers crossed that Vodafone doesn't decide to pull the $200 cashback earlier than the planned date as I have trouble deciding...

Well, I just put my order through. Let's see how long it takes to 'track' my transaction :)
  • queenshrew
Just listed as 'tracked' when I checked just then -> $200
  • minacaeks
hmmm, so going by the special that's on at the moment.. $29 for the samsung galaxy s2 over 24 months.. total cost over 24 months is $696 my friend has a f&f code i can use, which takes off $10 from the total each month, bringing it down to $19 a month. total then is $456 over 24 months. sign up through buckscoop, and get back $200. so the phone will be $256, or even less, depending on when vodafone pays up the $200! i got that all right...right?
  • kickling
Minacaeks - Usually you can only use the one deal, and in most cases if you use a coupon code you will forfeit your chance of cashback, but I think NOD is finding out something for another member in regards to stacking this deal....
  • pxwee5
I got my phone. But still not tracked yet :(
  • ichiban
How long does it take for Vodafone to process your order? I've ordered the Galaxy Nexus through the presale page (via the Buckscoop deal link) on the 13th December, but my order status is still 'processing'. I'd call up customer support to follow up, but I'm worried that my order would be processed as a telephone sale and I'd miss out on the cashback.
  • queenshrew
If your phone still hasn't tracked after a couple of weeks or so, I would definitely submit a query through Buckscoop and Nod could probably chase it up for you. Do not just do nothing as Vodafone will refuse to look into transactions that are older than a couple of months(I think 3 months is the limit for most merchants, but some merchants may have shorter cut offs?) In which case, Nod can do nothing about it as Vodafone will not investigate nor pay up. Anyway, going by Vodafone's statistics - I would submit a query earlier rather than later.. Vodafone statistics: Tracking Speed Fast (0 - 4 days, 0 day average Tracking Reliability High (97% tracked, 3% enquiries of which 80% successful so far) Payment Speed Slow (3 month avg) --- Ichiban - If it is processing then I would try and wait a little longer patiently. I'm thinking it might take a bit longer to process given the Galaxy Nexus has just been released and is listed as the #2 most popular phone on the Vodafone website plus it is also the jolly season!

Is it true the $200 cash back is only for new customers and not existing ?
To be honest, (personally) I don't see why existing customers can't get the cashback too if you follow through and purchase. It does not say new customers only and when I was purchasing my 3 phones/mobile broadband, I signed up as an existing customer and linked all my purchases and I still got the full cashback (but this was with 3 when 3 was still a cashback merchant). I have only purchased a prepaid from Vodafone in the past and I threw out the sim card that came with the prepaid so I signed up this time as a new customer. However, if you are worried I would wait and see what admin or nod has to say as I think they are checking with Vodafone to confirm?
  • Bargrin
Its just that on ozbargain, Moneybackco rep says its only for new customers, but he might be wrong ?
  • queenshrew
Bargrin, I don't use Moneyback co so I don't know what are their requirements. But as far as I can see on Buckscoop, it doesn't say anywhere that you have to be a new customer. Just that you can't stack discounts. But I am not privvy to how *exactly* Vodafone approve cashbacks, and can only speak from experience (and I do shop a lot via buckscoop - whether that's good or bad I'm not sure lol).. If you're worried (and it sounds like you are), I would just wait for nod or admin for confirmation. :)

Nice, what exactly did you say? how did you go about it?
  • minacaeks
I basically called to ask if I opened a contract with Vodafone now, if i could change the generic number to the one I'm using with optus right now. [in the process of cancelling] Gentleman asked if I wanted to sign up right there and i said no. Wanted to do it online due to Buckscoop offer. He asked me what it was. Told him about it. He seemed really impressed and said he'd check it out, and see if he could apply that discount for me over the phone. Gave him the buckscoop site. He found it and said he could definitely do it for me right there and then. However, the vodafone coverage shows my area as iffy. He advised me to grab a $2 sim to check out my coverage first, then to call back if it was good to go, and the Sales rep I spoke to could apply it on for me. I'm getting my sim in about 20 minutes, so i'll report back with how the offer went!
  • Bargrin
In testing service, they now apparently offer 30 day test period so if you dont get proper coverge you can return it.
  • minacaeks
on the phone with another rep right now. we'll see how this goes down! (rep name: chris) ............. and he said no. huh. 5.30pm: just made an order, am now gonna be keeping my eye on my earnings for the next few days.
  • Bargrin
Damn, so mods going to find out more terms about the 200. Is it only for new customers? Can we also use the 10% off currently being offered for adding an extra service? Can we use on htc Z which is on a 12 month special plan?

Is it possible to get $200 cashback per new Vodafone customer post paid order on the same Buckscoop account?
I think if you read through the t&c of Buckscoop a/c usage, you should not have more than one user per account. If i am you, i would def create a separate account, clear all cookies before putting the 2nd order through =) hope that helps..!
  • lilpretzel
That is correct queenshrew, one account per member..
    3. Member Account Validity and Termination Buckscoop only allows one account per person and it must be used only by that person. If we find that a user is letting their account be used by multiple people or if we find a user is manipulating multiple accounts we will not hesitate to terminate the accounts in question. This includes members that are using the same bank account or paypal account to receive cashback payments. You must be a resident of Australia to register for a Buckscoop account and receive cashback. Buckscoop reserves the right to terminate any member account at any time. Buckscoop also reserves the right to refuse membership.

Ok here is what I know: You need to be very carefuul when you are buying with Vodafone. There are a lot of cookies etc that can cause issues. So please please read all the help info first. I was not sent any information re the HTC bit it does seem that quite a few members are having problems with buying this and having their cashback track. I will email and triple check. Re the 10% I would say the chance of getting cashback with that is very very low. I also have not heard that the cashback only applies to new customers but will triple check that too. Please note that we do know that it does not include upgrades Anyone that has a missing transaction, please wait the 14 days and if it still does not appear in your earnings then you need to send us a ]missing transaction enquiry

I think the current 10% off code from RAC automatically makes the transaction linked to RAC and not Buckscoop as Bargrin found out after he entered the code. He couldn't go back to the normal Vodafone homepage. I would avoid using that code at all costs as it looks like it deletes all your Buckscoop cookies and replaces it with the RAC referral.

thanks for your help Nod. Re: Double dipping and using discounts, from past experience the rule is that its up to them if they honour it. I wouldn't risk trying to save a bit of money and missing out on the $200
  • queenshrew
Yep, totally agree with what AussieMM said above. It really is dependant on the merchant. Some merchants like Deals Direct have been pretty lenient with allowing codes to stack on top of cashback. However, I know some merchants are not so generous... I am not sure about Vodafone as I've never used a discount code with them. But I would hate to have Vodafone deny my cashback due to some discount code I used as I really want the $200 cashback at the earliest date (as if they deny it I then have to ask nod to investigate - it may take awhile and the end result could still end with me getting denied). Just not worth the possibility of such hassle if you ask me ;) If it works for anyone, please update so I can note it for future reference! Thanks :)

  • admin EDITOR
Be careful about talking to vodafone on the phone - sometimes what happens is that the sales guys you talk to will take the sales commission (what we pay you as cashback). The basis is that vodafone offer sales commission to a range of different sources (websites, sales organisations, agents etc etc etc). The principle is that the 'last source' wins - ie you can visit as many of the sources as you like however when it comes to paying commission vodafone will pay the last one you had contact with in the chain. The difference is that they all put the commission in their pocket - we give it back to you.

Vodafail has happned to me, I added the HTC Z to my current account cause I got a HTC legend on a plan and took advantage of the 10% off for extra service. I call them up for status and they tell me my I got declined cause I didnt pass the credit check, I know why cause I gave them the wrong work number, but seriously I passed their first credit check 12 months ago and been paying them for 12 months and countine to have a plan with them but now I am not credit worthy even though I have history with them! Tried to tell call centre person but said I need to speak to credit checkers, call them up and they charge $50 to give your credit report or 10 days free. I think screw it, will just apply again and put the correct work number. So can I apply for the $200 cashback again in a new order ?

Hi all. my fist post so go easy. will it work with the Nokia 5230? Total cost $228 so after cashback $28?
My only worry would be that with this offer, it says Also Includes: $10 off every month for 12 months. ^Online only. Ends 31.01.12 You don't need a code to get this, it's just an online discount that's already applied. Sorry to be a pain but could anyone suggest whether this would void the cashback? :whistling:
  • bigal
the mrs ordered a Nokia E75 which is also a 12month contract with $10 off each month. Works out to be $228 over 12 months, less the $200 cashback makes this deal $28. The order tracked almost immediately. Just have to wait the 3 months to get the money back. I dont see why it would be rejected, we're not stacking any discounts etc on top of this. Guess we'll only find out in 3 months time.

I can't see any reason why it would in principle but as they are offering a further $10 off a month they may see that as some form of 'instore discount' - if you know what I mean

Hi and welcome to Buckscoop :) If you follow all instructions properly your purchase will be listed as tracked in the 'earnings' tab. However you should get cashback only after approx 3 months, sometimes longer depending on vodafone. Some merchants are a little slower than others... Hope that help :)

Did you click through on the 11th to browse? Maybe it kept the cookie from the 11th and tracked it to when you finally checked out on the 12th and paid? Just food for thought. Yes. That is how long Vodafone (on average) usually takes to pay out cashbacks. Once they pay, Buckscoop will then pass the money to you. BuckScoop has been good at paying promptly (in my experience) once the merchant pays them - so long as you make sure you keep your details updated ]here However, it could be slightly longer or shorter. That average is just an indication so you can have a rough idea how long the merchant took to pay out in the past.

Hi Plant, I don't think you can get any Buckscoop cashback if you simply upgrade your account and keep your own number. You get Cashback by signing up for a new contract (can be attached to your existing account). Only way we have worked out that you can keep your old Vodafone number is to transfer your number to another network then transfer it back to Vodafone. By the way, the $200 increased cashback is supposedly only valid until 31 December. So if you are trying to decide, be quick before it goes back down in the new year :) ------------------------------------- ETA: Their usual rate for the most part of 2011 was $84 before they increased it to $99 briefly before the pre-Christmas hike to $200 which is only meant to last til 31 Dec. After this, your guess is as good as mine whether they drop it back to $99 or $84

Hey there I can't give you a definite answer on this one at the moment. We are still waiting on a complete answer from Vodafone. So far we have not been advised that the offer is for new customers only and/or whether porting numbers etc affects the cashback We do know that if you have phone contact with Vodafone before your transaction is completed (ie validated) there is still a chance they will claim the sale via their sales network and not Buckscoop (hence no cashback).

Hi guys, thanks for all your efforts thus far. I've also been trying to get to the bottom of whether porting affects the cashback. I'm currently an existing Vodafone customer and have recently finished a 12-month contract so looking to grab a Galaxy Nexus. With 2 days to go I think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and order. I did, however, speak to a Vodafone rep today and he confirmed that I could place an online order for a new connection (in addition to my existing on the same account) and that once I had received the handset and sim, I could call them to port my existing number into the new sim thereby cancelling my existing service. Could be an alternative to porting to another carrier then back into Vodafone if what he said is true. However, do feel free to correct me if you guys have experienced otherwise because I generally take their advice with a grain of salt. Again, whether or not this affects the cashback is still to be determined. Thanks for updates Nod. Keep it up! Here we go.. fingers crossed..

you MAY have to port your existing number away before porting it back to vodafone - but there are plenty of prepaid/cheap ways to do this. Last time I did it, I went to Iprimus and it cost me about $12 for a month of prepaid to do this - worth it for the $200 if you are off contract anyway. (and it's Fri 30th)

Sadly if you only ordered today at night, you might have missed the cut off for the $200 cashback. :( If you are worried and your parents are dependent on the $200 cashback (as opposed to only $100 cashback) to approve your purchase, I would cancel the transaction before they send you the phone. Sadly, don't think there is much Buckscoop can do. It is Vodafone who gives the cashback, not Buckscoop :(. Buckscoop just passes the bucks on to you after they get paid by Vodafone on your behalf. $100 cashback is still a nice bonus compared to none.

Just got an email that Vodafone has cancelled my order because I have failed my credit check. Really not sure how this is decided, maybe it's because I already have one phone plan with them? Hi guys Just got some answers from Vodafone: 1. Only NEW PLANS will be eligible for Buckscoop cashback, regardless of whether you are a new customer to Vodafone or not. 2. Contract renewals are NOT eligible 3. Yes all the HTC's are eligible 4. According to the network the offer ended at midnight AEST Hope that helps everyone
  • Bargrin
dosent NEW PLAN mean new customer ? Can you be a current customer but with a NEW PLAN ? I tried to port my current Voda number to the NEW PLAN i signed up for as old 12 month plan ended in Dec, they said they dont port number within Voda they just RE-ASSIGN my current account with the new handset. ....does that make it a RENEWAL ? I got the phone on Friday and I think they have a 14 day return policy ? EDIT: plot thickens. this is the email speel Voda sent me when actived new service.....does it sound like a NEW PLAN or a RENEWAL to you ? Subject: Welcome back to Vodafone‏ Welcome , Thanks for staying with us, and we hope you are enjoying your new Vodafone mobile and everything your plan has to offer. Click here to find out more about what your plan includes. Make the most of your mobile
  • nod
I am assuming that NEW plan means a complete new service contract. If you were on a $29 a month 24 month contract and you simply got the same again with the same number I would assume that you are NOT eligilbe for the offer. I think that those members that port their old number to a new phone, potentially MAY run into problems. I have been told to send over any transaction enquiries so if your transaction does get declined then let me know.
  • Bargrin
Yeah thanks for that, looks like you maybe right. Prob best to cancel whilst i still can, no point waiting to see if they will or wont with that rule.

it sound as if when you get a new number/contract this should qualify, even if it means it is added to an existing account. bargrin, if it was me, I would keep the phone and not port your number just yet. Forward all your calls to the new number (should be free, voda-voda) and wait till the commission is at least validated. then port your number out of vodafone and then port it back onto the new number. but I'm not you and I dont know how risk adverse you are ;)
  • Bargrin
Thanks but problem is i be paying for two services for as long as it takes to get cashback which could be 4 months. That around $120 eat into my $200 so not woth hassle. Here an issue i an having with them now: I placed order online where it says you have 14 day return policy. I got phone and havent opened it but called and asked about porting current Voda number to new contract. Voda call centre person said voda does not port existing voda numbers to new contracts but dont worry as she wil fix it. Whilst i am on hold turns out she canclled my online order and created a "upgrade" order for me instead. Now i didnt sign anything for this order all voda need apparently is a verbal agreement that dosent need to be recorded or signed for. So she gets me back from hold says account error had been fixed but dosnt tell me what she has actualy done which is signed me up for a new contract on a assumed verbal agreement. Now it turns out that even thoug there is a 14 day return policy on online orders there is NO return policy on phone orders which is what i apprently signed up for whilst on hold! So voda have locked me into a 12 month contract on a assumed verbal agreement that dosent exisit! Problem is if i push and cancel it now i also cancel my current number and cant get it back. Round two of my arugment starts with them tomorrow morning.
  • queenshrew
That's the thing about speaking to any of their customer service after you make a purchase online. It happened to me once with 3. I called up to ask a simple question and the customer service signed me up for something completely different and cancelled my previous order (so she can obviously get the commission). I called up and cancelled the whole thing after some argument and then reordered again with 3 online. That is why in my above post, I did warn not to call up their customer service to ask questions if you can help it. They always tend to alter your things as they work on commission for themselves - and it is not usually in your best interest ;p I don't see why you can't cancel your 12 month contract - especially when you didn't realise that is what she signed you up for. Just chuck a stink and stick to your guns then insist you speak to a supervisor if you look like you're getting nowhere =)

Bargrin that is rubbish customer service. You can ask for a recording of the conversation as by law they need to keep it as this stands as the 'verbal contract'. Otherwise, it is just her word against yours. And if they say they dont have it then there is no contract. But I will say that either way looks like she has made a mess of your chances of getting your Buckscoop cashback. Not good :(

I port my number over too from Optus. It was really quick and was activated within a few days. A few days after that, I called up again to port from the microsim card to a normal sized sim card. That was even quicker - a few hours. Did you call up Vodafone over the phone to port your number over or did you try it online? I did it over the phone. Was really quick. :)

FYI - for those porting numbers, just check your 1st and 2nd bill carefully. I was charged $19.95 to 'get a new number' according to the customer service person - when I simply ported my number. The Customer service guy was great and has arranged a credit for me. Porting is supposed to be free.
