Free SMS on Pennytel

30 August 2007

For a while now, sending SMS online via Pennytel has been free ( they've been tinkering with the SMS setup and couldn't promise reliability, although local SMSs always seem to work - plus you can check the SMS history to make sure that they were sent successfully).

Free to join, and their call rates are very cheap.
I used Pennytel to call home whilst overseas and never managed to use up more than $2!

I like the word prescient ! ( I had to use the OSX dictionary tool just to check it was what I thought it meant ! ) Sorry I didn't see that you guys were discussing free SMS on the free deals forum - I haven't been frequenting it - should start now ;) Anyway, I can vouch for the Pennytel service. I've tried many of the other 'free' sms services and many never seem to deliver the sms, plus I'm afraid of getting on some sms spam list
