Vodafone: Free Network Lock removal on some handsets

The website doesn't really give much away about what models are included.
It does state that charges apply for unlocking some handsets - so they are not all included.

So if you have a locked Vodafone handset it could be worth giving it a try!

It does say charges will apply for unlocking some handsets - maybe yours was one of the unlucky ones.

i have a feeling all phones would have an unlocking charge, havent seen it free anywhere on the internet, but perhaps someone can tell me differently.

You guys probably know this, but.. Generally speaking, the 'free' unlock applies to contract handsets. Most (if not all) prepaid handsets will attract an unlocking fee - this is because the carrier has subsidised the cost of the handset in order to keep you as a customer. If you unlock the handset in order to use a competitors SIM, they're not making as much money from you - hence the unlock.

Yeah, unfortunately the majority of Nokia handsets no longer use the DCT3 and DCT4 Basebands, they're now nearly all BB5 Baseband, which is pretty much is still unlockable.
Still, if you've got an older Nokia, that site is worth a try.
