Free Amazon Kindle ebooks

I know, the classics have always been free but normally, you had to trawl through both paid and free ebooks, which is very time consuming. The link provided will show you the top 100 paid and free kindle ebooks so you can easily find just the free ones. A few of the books are more modern but their quality or subject matter seem to be a reason for them being free. A few are also restricted to the US (even a few of the classics), maybe you can try creating a US account. There is a US-restricted fantasy book by Naomi Novik which was free and had really good reviews.

You will need an Amazon account to "buy" the books.
For those without a Kindle, you can also get the free Kindle PC application from this link:

They also have an app for a few other devices.

BTW, for people who prefer an alternative to Kindle, www.kobobooks.com also has their own apps and some free books in ePub, PDF and web formats.
