Tagging your deals

Just thought I would put up a bit of information about Tags. What they are and how they can help you search through the Hot Deals section of the forum.
So far our Buckscoop members have been doing an awesome job at posting some really good deals. It is what the site is all about. Members posting about bargains they have found, on-line or off-line. Well done!

To help all our members to maximise their search capabilities of the site we use tags on the deals. It means that if you were searching for something specific, (for a topical example a Mother's day gift), you can find the first relevant deal, then click on the Mother's day tag. This takes you to a page listing all the deals we have that may provide you with ideas or savings for that special Mother's day gift.
Nice and easy!

Some tips on adding tags to your deals:
1. keep it simple
2. always include the brand
3. for electronics include the model number eg WDG1T5000 for the Western Digital External HDD 500GB
4. I pop 'sales' in as a tag when I am posting about a sale only
5. check out other deals and try to copy the tags listed.

The tags are there to help you use the site and get the most out of the deals that we have listed.
If anyone has any questions at all pop up a post here

Thanks
Nod

jumpingjack has started on a distinguished road to Bargainville
tags can be really useful if you want to make up your own category also. So if you wanted to link together all deals about 'orchids sale' you could make that a tag and put it in all the deals you wanted to link and then accessing/clicking on that tag would bring them all up for you.

Thought it would be a good idea if we could create an ongoing tags list.
If we can keep the tags the same or very close then it makes using the Buckscoop forum much easier and certainly more efficient.

Some graphics to point you in the right direction!

To add tags to a deal as you are creating it, enter the terms (as identified above) in the field indicated by the arrow.

To add tags afterwards, to your own or someone else's deals, you can do it by clicking either clicking on the link shown here with the read arrow or using the edit deal button and then using the dialogue button above

Hope this is clear and easy to understand!

Just a quick edit and new pics added as the old ones had disappeared

It also might be a good idea for us to have tags for certain times of the year

Eg at the moment we can start using back to school as a tag and that way, the Buckscoop mums and dads can find things a bit easier

Nice neat little bump for this post as it seems that a lot of deals are getting posted without tags.
It would be great is members could add tags to their deals as it helps people find related deals and narrow down their searches
Any questions please feel free to post
Thanks
