12 mixed wines + 24 Hoegaarden for $151.99 delivered from Winemarket (can be made cheaper)

30 January 2011

This works out to be a pretty good buy. You get the case of wine (most of which are decent wines) and the Hoegaarden beer which effectively only costs you $40 and its a very nice beer. What would make this a very good deal would be free shipping or a discount code of some sort.

I was sceptical about the price on this but after checking prices this is what you'd pay for each part of the overal deal.

A case of Hoegaarden - $60

Grant Burge GB43 Merlot 2008 - $7.33
St Hallet Classic Barossa Shiraz 2008 - $8.33
Step by Step Shiraz 2008 - $8.30
Indis by Forest Hill Shiraz 2008 - $7.50
Bird in Hand Two in the Bush Merlot Cabernet 2007 - $16
Zontes Footstep Langhorne Creek Cabernet Shiraz 2008 - $7.60
World's End Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc 2010 - $7.66
Chancet Rocks by Yealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009 - $7.66
Bird in Hand Clare Valley Riesling 2009 - $16.99
Sarantos Chardonnay 2007 - $5.95
Kangarilla Rd McLaren Vale Chardonnay - $8.25
Quacks Corner Sauvignon Blanc, Nelson, NZ 2009 - $9.99

To get the same combo elsewhere (including shipping) you'd be looking at about $183.

Thinking about it this deal can be made better. I'd forgotten the cashback on it and if you are a new customer you can sign up for the newsletter and get $10 off your first order. Assuming you can use the $10 discount voucher for signing up the cashback element of the deal would be $9.74 and the effective price you pay $132.25. If you cant get the $10 off first order voucher the price you'd pay would be $142.30. Either way its still a reasonable bargain.

What do you think?
