BEST BEFORE 5 October 2009. Limit of 2 packs per customer. Each pack includes 3 x 250g boxes of Cadbury Old Gold Continental Dark Chocolates. Please note that this product has a Best Before date, not an expiry date. Goods that are past their Best Before date are still safe to consume; a Best Before date is merely an indication of when the goods should be consumed by if you want to eat it at its best quality. A ’Use By’ or ’Expiry’ date means the goods are not suitable for sale or consumption.

Just like the last lot of choccies that they had. Best Before... Pfff... Id eat it even if it was a year past!

Did any of the other choccies have any discolour fairybelle? :)

I'm eating one of my Hershey's Kisses filled with Caramel, which are stored in the pantry. And nope, no discolouring. Off for a while now - to polish off the box. Can't believe I still have some. Anyone want one? :w00t:

From my experience, as soon as they're past their best before date they start tasting yucky. I've had this happen several times when a box of chocolates has been a month or 2 past its best before date and I end up trying a few and throwing the rest out. The ones Iv had have always discoloured as well, ie gone a tiny bit witish and lost their 'shine' if that makes sense.

Yeah i know about the whitish-ness.. but when im craving choclate I Dont care!!

My advice? Put them all in the freezer as soon as you receive them..and take them out whenever you need. I love my chocolate frozen anyway... hehe! This way..they keep fresh for a lot longer! Also, you can take them out whenever for cooking/baking purposes..just let them thaw to room temperature :) I bought one lot. Will be opening them all and putting into containers to stuff in my freezer :)

Actually the last lot I got from them said they expire in OCT 09 but when arrived on the packaging was JAN 10...so still good for another few months :D

I think that's an excellent deal! Too bad my expanding waistline doesn't agree :(

the 'white' stuff is actually when a chocolate has melted and re solidified (ie, left in the heat). If the chocolate is heat affected, then it will be awful - this has NOTHING to do with the best before date. so - if your chocolate is heat affected, you have every right to return it as it can happen to products within their date. Last time, my chocolates from 1 day had 6 monthsw more useby than promised.. and were delicious.. and the hersheys kisses with almonds are quickly disappearing... very tasty!
