Tales From Earthsea

Tales From Earthsea is Studio Ghibli's (the team behind Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle) adaptation of the fantasy novels by Ursula Le Guin. It marks the directorial debut of Goro Miyazaki, son of legendary Ghibli filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki.

The story follows Aarren, a young prince with a violent temper. During one of his rages he kills his father and flees his home. When he stumbles upon a wizard who is searching for the answer as to why the world is "out of balance", he becomes embroiled in a struggle to defeat an evil witch intent on living forever.

The animation is expectedly striking, from landscapes to castles, and maintains Ghibli's strong commitment to attention to detail. A visual feast for animation and fantasy fans alike.

Voices: Willem Dafoe, Timothy Dalton
