Tevion, I don't really know. It's just one of those cheaper brands out there. As far as Plasma and LCD, I'd buy plasma for TV, and LCD for PC. Plasma is better in bright conditions, I think, and generally 20% cheaper than LCDs of the same size.

although plasma has more of a "limited" life span where as LCD may last longer.

Pretty sure that's been overcome in recent plasma panels. http://www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com/plasmatv/plasmatv-lifespan.html

from my research, Lcds are better for the vibrant colours, better for viewing in a room that's got lights, and uses less power =p (government wants to ban plasmas due to power consumption?), whereas Plasmas are better for their blacks (looks more black) hence they'd be better in a home theatre room, and that's about all i know. plasma burn ins aren't a problem anymore as far as i know, not sure about these old models tevion's selling tho
