    Love these features:

    Active hard drive protection system
Like an airbag's sensor, Active Protection System can detect sudden changes in motion and temporarily stop the hard drive to help protect your valuable data from some crashes that could occur due to everyday notebook accidents.

    Magnesium alloy roll cage
The magnesium alloy frame that surrounds ThinkPad parts absorbs shock on drop - reducing failures and improving durability and reliability.

    Spill-proof keyboard
Able to withstand accidental spills of up to 60ccs through an innovative drainage system hidden beneath the keyboard.

Added a piccie for you too Geo78

Geo78 do you think it is worth the $1999 listed?

Its a good idea, but having said that, the same thing on Mac didn't save a friends hard drive when it fell off a chair.

And imho it wouldnt justify a price of $1999 on the spec. You can get better value on brand name machines with the same goodies in them. $1199 is an ok price.

That's a good price for that machine!

You probably wouldn't even need to use the warranty, in my experience IBM laptops are very durable. I've got an X31 which is about 4 years old now (12", 1.6kg) which has travelled all over the world with me and is still going strong! Their design might be a little old-school, but the IBM's are full-featured and built well :-)

Do they still have the little red mouse button on the keyboard? I had an IBM ages ago - which lasted pretty well.
