nvidia are the equivalent of something like western digital in longevity stakes. Been around for eons making cards. Not all have been that good but you'd figure they must have something right if they've managed to make it through the last 10 + years in hardware. Its interesting how its more in the last 5 - that Nvidia have jumped - as all our applications become more graphic intensive the issue of high vs low end cards has intensified.

Isnt this whats in your multimedia Dell plaything Sab?

Sweeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttttttttt. Really sweet. I got it for when Half Life 2 came out I think (or maybe it was Episode 1) The graphics blew me away. Some of the scenes were actually jaw dropping. They had this new "bloom" thing - where you'd walk from a dark room to the lighter outside and there would be a bit of a period where your "eyes" had to adjust to the light :) And the physics engine, with the water and the realism was class. I know that was all part of the games, but the graphics card made it perfect.

the sheer number crunching it takes to render that sort of 3D on screen blows me away.
