Big hot vote from me Schlemster. Mynetfone certainly have put together a nice little deal there

    Nice - Excellent price

FYI: Telstra/Bigpond Broadband customers with the provided modem - they have blocked the standard Voip port on their modems

How do you mean Wally - ahh you mean the one that telstra provide you with. :D of course - they dont want the competition. Scumbags.

Yes the Bigpond modem - gotta pay Sol T and his Amigos' Bonuses from somewhere
  • admin2007/08/28 00:25:30
    :)

I can understand that they dont like competition but surely they'd be better coming up with a business idea to make use of the Voip traffic. Heck - its their high pricing thats driving people that way - smart business would be to hedge and move into voip services.

Think Sol T is is a Texas Hold 'em Poker player - wants try the bluff the whole pot in face of the odds - at least until the end of his contract

And what a bonus it will be

Nobody is allowed to laugh at me for being, well, stupid, but can I use this phone with another VoIP carrier (provider, whatever)? We use exetel for our ISP, pennytel for VoIP, and our modem is and never was a bigpond supplied one...? Of course, I can wait an hour and ask the man-who-lives-here-and-also-knows-these-things, but heck, what's the point of a forum if I can't fill it with my inane questions? [rhetorical question, that one].
  • admin2007/08/28 17:41:37
This device is programmed only to operate on the MyNetFone service.

Thats from the listing above the handset / router.

And I'm not laughing :) - had to find the answer out myself
  • ScarletRubies2007/08/29 00:22:40
Thanks for that. The lad has informed me that even though we need a new phone (one of our handsets has become irreparably fluid filled due to the rabid slobber of an 18 month old kid who likes sucking on it... ick), we don't need the other who'syjigger.

What was I saying somewhere else about buying stuff I don't know I need???
