I am guessing that the site will be jammed with everyone trying to get on to buy these tickets. Does anyone have any tips to successfully get tickets?

The 1 cent is INCLUSIVE of taxes. $41.73 is what the taxes are worth. Which means that you are paying a 1 cent fare with a negative $41.73 balance, from Virgin Blue's ledger a $41.73 debit.

Good luck to anyone trying, I have no chance on dialup
  • leny2008/02/04 21:50:41
You have a chance, you just don't have AS MANY CHANCES as people on broadband. It just means that your dates will load slower, but you should still be able to snatch them.

But then again, we don't have much knowledge or history info on the capacity Virgin Blue's website has.
When I commented above, I was really thinking Jetstar Sale. :D
  • admin2008/02/04 21:53:47
mamak - I know jetstars site seems to be active before the offical start of the promo - so it might be worth a try to hammer through the site 15 mins before scheduled start time.
  • leny2008/02/05 17:43:59
This is a Virgin Blue sale. :D

    Hi,

The only way in through the server chaos is via:

    http://www.virginmobile.com.au

Enter your Virgin Mobile number and Six character password...

Select the link to the Virgin Blue site... (located under the Virgin Perks link on the left menu)!

If you don't have a Virgin Mobile phone, go buy one at:

    http://www.buckscoop.com.au/virgin-mobile

If you want to see what flights are available go to:

    http://www.iwantthatflight.com.au

I still don't know what I would have done with 1000 seats if I had got through...
It must be a really big aircraft. :+)
  • leny2008/02/05 21:10:14
Did you have to pay a $3 booking fee?
  • jdstacey2008/02/06 06:31:32
It's funny because I thought I would have had to pay the $3 booking fee (which is actually $3 per leg, so $6 in total). But it didn't coming up when I had to pay and the receipt/itinerary that I've got just shows the $0.02. :w00t:
  • nod2008/02/06 09:46:11

    Brilliant Jdstacey :)

    Will they round down??? :whistling:
  • admin2008/02/06 10:50:13
    :D - good point Ruby....
  • jdstacey2008/02/06 18:34:53
lol - but no. It's an electronic transaction so there's no rounding - only when there's cash.
