is this cheap? tiger has melbourne to gold coast for $59.95 each way...

Maybe not the cheapest, but I have found Tiger's flight schedule really awkward and generally horrible. I'd check times of flights as well as cost...

Just booked a flight for my sister-in-law from Tassie to Melbourne last night with Jetstar, and while there noted their prices from Melbourne to Gold Coast start at $69 (with only carry on luggage) and $79 for 20kg luggage plus carry on.

definitely tiger or jetstar should have better offers than $109 one way...

    Cold, cold, cold..

I do ool-mel every 2nd weekend. i'd never pay that much.. If booking in advance you shouldn't be paying more then 69-79$ each way (on the more expensive end)...

If you have cheaper flights why not list them for us?

Sure, obviously with airfares listing dates is pretty much pointless as the availably changes moment by moment as things get booked -- but just to prove the point, right at this moment

Dump random dates into tiger and it will almost always beat $109 each way..

    just checked ool-mel
    Going out May 14, $59.95
    Returning may 18, $69.98

Or same dates on jetstar $89 each way...

$109 on virgin is an okay deal, but nothing amazing considering that you can jump on tiger or jetstar for much less..

    Cheers!

I find that sometimes it is a matter of which airline has the dates you want and at what price, unless you are totally flexible with your travel days
