ViewSonic VX2233wm monitor from Mwave $234.95 + cashback

Mwave usually do pretty good prices on these 1 day offers. $235 for this monitor is about as cheap as I can find it, although the difference is only about $20 with the next wave of prices. In any case that'll pay for your delivery. The cashback from Mwave on the other hand, at $1.92 will pay for your next coke.

Interesting... cnet call it a LCD TV in their review - no idea why. A whole forum thread banging on about it here.

Off topic I know but there's a real proliferation of crap review sites around these days isnt there. Lots listing the product with no reviews - even came across a couple with the monitor listed but the review was for something entirely different.

that cnet "review" is not really a review, and was written by someone with no idea...

and yes, it is getting harder and harder to find real quality reviews of gear, with all these bogus review sites to sift through... there are a few good "collector" sites that try and summarise available reviews, and provide links to them... and there are a handful of sites that do knowledgable in-depth testing...

and another frustrating thing is that so many online stores have those "review this product" sections that hardly anyone uses, and can't be relied upon... however, the worst thing about this is that it makes Googling for real reviews quite painful...

Yea thats part of what made me comment. Search the product SKU and 'review' and you get acres of results from the review this product joints that have nothing useful behind them.

by the way Dellscoopers, Viewsonic make some very good monitors, have a 3 year warranty and an excellent dead pixel policy...

also, this is a 16:9 aspect ratio monitor, which makes it a good choice as a HD TV screen (and it supports a 50Hz vertical refresh rate, also a good thing if you want to use it as a TV screen in Australia)...
