So far this month the buckscoop clanfluence has;

06 April - Upped Deals Direct 1 tier to 4.95%. Anyone with a validated transaction for the rest of the month (or at least until it goes up another tier) will get the higher rate.

10th April - Deals Direct are up another tier to 5.4% for the rest of the month (or until they go up again)

21st April - oo.com.au have just gone up a tier to 5.85%. I like oo.com.au - they're good guys - their increase applies to all confirmed transactions for the whole month as opposed to some of others.

25th April - Deals Direct are up another tier to 5.85%

25th April - oo.com.au are up another tier as well to 6.3% for the month...

29th April - and again - oo.com.au are now at 6.75% for the whole of the month. Nice......

No doubt we will see more merchants pop up in here as we go along through the month.

:) that would have to be the highest COTD rate we've had!
  • admin2008/04/25 18:11:18
Deals Direct are up another tier to 5.85% this month ... just checking to see if anyone else is up as well.

Do some of these companies go down at the start of every month?
  • nod2008/04/25 18:27:35
    Yeah they do Voteoften :(
We reach the higher tiers pretty much every month but then we start from scratch all over again :(
We are campaigning to get a higher rate though with some merchants ;)
  • Brad2008/04/25 18:29:16
The rates reset at the start of each month VO. ;)

oo.com.au are up to 6.3% for the month.

Its annoying voteoften. The system of having to work the percentages up over the course of the month only to drop them at the end (and hit the same next month) is pretty stupid.

Even more arbitrary is that some merchants apply the increase to every validated transaction in that month while others only do it from the point where you hit the new tier. Add into that that a lot of the transactions you make end up in a 'pending' queue which may or may not be cleared out in the current month. Anyway - the systems we have to deal with on the back end can be pretty frustrating. Our hands are to some degree tied but we'll not stop trying to change that on our members behalf.

Does that mean that orders placed this week with OO (for example... or any of the others on higher than normal tiers) may not be cleared until after the first of the month and therefore back at the 'normal' cash back amount?

OO.com.au are pretty quick to validate sales

The good thing with OO.com.au is that they are one of the merchants that back date ie every transaction validated for this month will receive the higher rate :)

    heeheehee ........... ummmm .............. no :D

Maybe - is about the only accurate answer there Ruby. It depends on how long it takes the merchant to 'process' the transaction. OO as an example are pretty good. They usually track and validate transactions very quickly.

Deals Direct are crap on the other hand. Almost every transaction made with them ends up in the pending queue where they may sit for up to 3 months before getting cleared, although most tend to move pretty quickly. The flipside of DD is that we always have a fairly large pending queue there so there's a good chance the transaction will go through at a higher rate in subsequent months.

We're trying to contact the merchants to see if we can change this system but as you can imagine its a hard sell to get them to keep us at a higher rate permanently.

And again. oo.com.au have gone up yet another tier and are running at 6.75% across all transactions this month..... :)
