Telstra Pre-Paid Wireless Broadband + $100 recharge voucher = $129

Buy a Telstra Pre-Paid Turbo USB modem and a $100 recharge voucher for $129 at Australia Post. Normally the modem sells for $129-149 by itself.

This offer is for the faster modem, not the $99 one.

Network unlock fee applies - good deal on the $100 credit but I'm yet to be convinced that Telstra plans are good value.

I still think 30 day expiry on recharges is ludicrous. $100 recharge voucher will get you a per KB rate of 1.65c which equates to 6 gig of data. That price in itself is a little expensive but when combined with the 30 day expiry I personally think its a bit of a rort.

I do like that these models run 5mbit upstream

It's worth pointing out that at the $100 price point Telstra is the same price as the competition.

I have two realistic network options if I want 3G coverage I can use indoors where I live. I think Telstra's pricing is becoming less ridiculous than what it used to be. Optus were charging their pre-paid customers $23/MB less than two years ago. :)

BTW - there's more than one place to get a network unlock code (hint hint…) :D

It's a decent modem (which incidentally is a large part of the reason I posted the offer). Optus charge $169 for a (ugh) Huawei modem with similar features, and it's still network locked.

    It is a good deal.

I'd be happy to have one as a backup if the data recharge lasted longer than three months (thats my main gripe). Where else do you buy a product only to have the seller take it back because you havent yet used

This is still on offer, until at least 20/6.
