I'll give you a hot for that one fairybelle - nice find. I guess they must correlate 'meat' purchases in the back end systems that manage the Flybuys programme. Says they send the voucher out. The basic terms and conditions below.

Wise words once said something similar to:
Forget about the idea of rewards, just remember to use it and you will have a bonus there at the end of the year.

:D - sounds like something my mum would have said to us as kids.

I highlighted this VERY important point :whistling:

You need to get this invitation in snail mail otherwise it implies you will not get any reward.

I think this would be unlikely to be available to any new joiner to Flybuys. But that's just my opinion. :)
• admin2007/09/16 11:43:45
I dont know if non transferable means you can be part of the promotion if you dont already have a card. On the promo home page it refers to 'sign in to book or watch this reward'. I read into that that you can activate it online. Not being a flybys pundit though I cant login to check :).

I'm not sure where your getting that it wouldnt be open to new sign ups Ozpete. I cant find anything in the terms that restricts the promotion.
• ozpete2007/09/16 17:34:47
I guess my interpretation came from the offer that I received. In that it says "you have been specially selected for this offer and it is not transferable" So it would appear that there are a number of these offers around.

By highlighting this at least someone joining up with Flybuys and buying $60 worth of meat knows that there MAYBE a limitation that Flybuys imposes. Now that may just be marketing goop to make those receiving the message, feel that they have been singled out for special treatment rather than a real restriction. But at least informing everyone is better than not.

The comment "sign in to book this reward" is generic. This is to use your points for a Flybuy's reward it is not to do with this specific promotion. The letter states that the card will be mailed to you, there is nothing about needing to redeem points. I think Fairybelle used the general Flybuys $20 gift card url to highlight the value.

My letter has no reference to any online site to get more info, except the following about the giftcard itself and how it can be used. www.giftcards.com.au

That's all.

Cheers

They are very wise words indeed Brad.

I figure if it is free then why not use it/collect them. I do tend to feel that it is more of a marketing ploy and a valuable source of consumer spending information - probably more valuable than the profits from items purchased :D
• scheps2007/09/17 17:08:57
so its automatic that you get sent the cards from fly buys? fantastic deal!!!
• bluntman2007/09/18 14:41:31
Im pretty sure that these offers are bound to a specific card. Last time they did this they sent out various different ones and you were only eligable for the offer that was specically sent to you for your card....
• admin2007/09/18 19:51:33
bluntman - did they have any way of checking whether your card was 'eligible' - am just asking as if it wasnt then you could always ring up and tell them that something was wrong and you should have been credited with the amount. I'm loath to go and get one but not being able to resolve the floating question is bugging me.

Has anyone called them ? Maybe I'll do that.
