Thanks catieb just ordered 4 :w00t:

About 10 colours to choose from.
• catieb2008/07/24 00:45:00
*blush* I ordered SEVEN myself -- one from most colours (not white, dark blue or marle)!

Have an almost identical one from Kmart which was about $14 on special about a month ago.

Also, told my mum about them and she got some too, so now I run the chance of looking like twins at family events *cringe* -> especially if she ends up looking better in them than me!

hot from me as well - nice find.
• airpoe2008/07/24 09:54:27
I presume they are ladies only?:confused:
• catieb2008/07/24 10:01:54
Ladies and Metrosexuals Only :D

The guy versions seem to be called 2074MLTEE and 2220MLTEE (not on special though) and biggest difference I can see is that they don’t have the button-front.
• MamaK2008/07/24 12:46:36
they seem to be having lots of cheap deals at the moment
• dealhunter082008/07/24 13:08:19

• catieb2008/07/25 18:18:56

I bought some shoes for the lil one and I always buy larger for her when I buy online. I bought a couple of pairs of cheapie "mock crocs" for me. I bought those big too, thinking I would use them to do gardening in as they could be hosed out, etc. I am normally a 9, so I ordered the 10. My toe goes all the way to the end. I can tell that it will cause major pain in less than 30 minutes. Not happy even though they were cheap. I would be livid if I hadn't had the kids shoes to justify the postage cost. I thought they were an aussie company but it seems like they are using asian sizing. Ill fitting shoes are the worst thing you can do to yourself!

Always sceptical about shoe size so when we were offered a rain check for the items we were after that were on special along with the sock offer made hubby pop into their store and try on some similar shoes to make sure we knew what size to buy.
Particularly since according to their online chart he should be about a size 7 but with the circumference of a size 11, yet he tried on a size 9 and said they were fine.
• admin2008/07/26 09:14:17
I ripped my toe nail off one day with shoes that were 1 size smaller than the ones I normally take.

I think they use US sizing? Rivers is a US company.
US sizing is smaller than AU/UK shoe sizing unfortunately even though their clothes sizing tend to be larger :confused:

Shoe sizes for women go something like:

AU = US
5.0 = 6.5
5.5 = 7.0
6.0 = 7.5
6.5 = 8.0
7.0 = 8.5
7.5 = 9.0
8.0 = 9.5
8.5 = 10.0
9.0 = 10.5

So I guess a 10.5 would have been the correct size for you :)

just be careful with online orders. i ordered some items a while ago and even though they approved my order, they did not send me some of the items because they said they were sold out. but they did not contacted me to say that. just sent me the incomplete order.
• Brad2008/07/27 15:46:52
Did they charge you the updated amount geo, or send the rest of the order when it was in stock again?
• geo782008/07/28 09:43:41
they charged me the updated amount, but i ended up not saving on postage by ordering more items...

This was my first and last order from Rivers, I'm sorry,

It's not good enough or acceptable that they offer items online than turn around and not tell you the item is out of stock until your order arrives, it only cost a few cents to ring.

Don't they have a online system that can tell when stock is 0, why let people keep ordering? :rolleyes:

I would had preferred a phone call notifying me of this than in return I could of said cancel my order altogether, I received my jumper but the ones I really wanted was the 3 I ordered for the girls.
It's not worth it when you only receive 1 item :mad:

Who else got jibbed?

Was at my local Rivers Clearance store today, swapping over the Hoodies I got ... turns out when they say "18", they really MEAN "18" - they were HUGE!

Anyway, the girl there that I was talking to said that she's just received a shipment of a hundred Hoodies!

So, I checked online and there's a few listed as available there also.

I don't know if this would work, but my suggestion would be to email Rivers nicely, explain how you missed out on the opportunity to buy from a retail or clearance outlet because they did not notify you that they were unable to supply your order, and enquire whether they are now able to fulfill your order at their advertised price, possibly including a copy of your original receipt showing what you had tried to order.

In the alternative, check with your local Rivers retail/clearance outlet whether THEY have any stock remaining, and then contact head office nicely to ask whether they can authorise the girls to reduce the price to $9 only for those items that you ordered and never received.

I would be sure to stress that you are only asking to be able to purchase what the online store had said was available, that you are only trying to fulfill your original order with them. Possibly also that this is your first experience with them (if this is the case) and that you had hoped it would be the start of a long and mutually beneficial business relationship.

Yada Yada Yada.

Basically what I'm saying is ... don't abandon hope, just because traditional avenues have let you down. Carpe Hoodie -- seize the special! :)

pretty good idea, but not all people have a rivers retail shop close to them, not to mention a clearance store. i would have thought that good business practice will mean that if they know they are going to receive more stock, they will send the remaining items when they have them and you won't need to get yourself in all that trouble asking for them or going to collect them..
