QANTASLINK: Sydney ↔ Canberra $69!

QANTASLINK have joined the fare war after Virgin Blue released $48 fares this afternoon. Of course, Qantaslink give you complimentary refreshments, and a better Frequent Flyer program. Hence which is why I think that this is why they cannot MATCH the Virgin Blue price.

Not to sound silly but do you think you get $21 worth of refreshments in the flight?
And do you think it would be worth it for such a short flight Leny?

Virgin Blue go via Melbourne, with a 1-4 hour stop-over. QANTAS... don't.

Now that I would pay $21 for - thanks Port

What a stupid idea  ....... do they really need a stop off!

Such a short flight, they probably don't get many sales ... so fill the plan up with an additional stop.

Virgin Blue now offer direct flights between Sydney and Canberra. These flights start next month. Via Melbourne costs $139.

And yes, I would pay an additional $21 for a SYD CBR service, for a resfreshment and drinks, more professional, courteous and polite staff, and my 1000 QFF points.

ALTHOUGH: Virgin Blue is putting the Embraer jets on this direct route, so I wouldn't mind trying it out. When I'm doing this route in April, I'll most likely do QF one way and DJ the other. :)

And that is just me though, I am a loyal QF customer, and they are a full service carrier, and not a LCC like Virgin Blue.

SYD -> CBR stopovers in MEL are 30mins-1hr MAX.

It's not a 'stop off', but rather two direct flights. Since DJ doesn't offer (or didn't offer) direct services between SYD and CBR, they needed to get you to MEL first, from where direct services did depart.
 Damn that's a lot of posts
