This is Margaret River wine.

06 Cabernet Shiraz $80.00 a case $168.00
This Cabernet Shiraz blend is a great drop continually smoothing out in the bottle this is aging well and is worth cellaring for at least two years, it has typical Margaret River Cabernet and Shiraz characters with a combination of the rich bodied shiraz full of invigorating peppers and the deep full bodied berry cabernet characters. Drink now or put down for a few years!!

05 Merlot $100 a case $216.00
Q Wines Silver medal winning 05 Merlot (joint third at the Margaret River Wine Show) has spicy oak with blackberries, raspberries and eucalyptus on the nose and a juicy strawberry finish completed by supple vanilla oak. Grab it while you can!! Getting Close to Sold Out!

06 Shiraz $100 a case $216.00
Our 2006 Shiraz bronze medal winning at the 2007 Perth Royal Show, has a more richer darker pepper finish with that smooth Shiraz finish that is definitively Margaret River. This is a step up we believe on its younger 05 wine and is moving well since it hasnt formerly been released in the cellar door.

06 Merlot $100 a case $216.00
Our 2006 Merlot top Margaret River Merlot (top four finisher) at the Perth Royal Show, is now available for $100 a case. Another solid Margaret River Merlot with a great finish. We prefer this to its 05 counterpart make the call yourself. Well worth trying!

Cleanskin 07 Shiraz $60 a case $216.00
Our 2007 Shiraz has a strong heritage and is our best variety on our property, this is again a further step up from the 06 Shiraz which was a bronze medal winner (we only exhibited it once). WA Cleanskins stock it as their choice of Shiraz, and all reports indicate that the WA Cleanskin clients like it so for $60 a great bargain, considering our 03 Shiraz was consumed at a royal wedding!!!!

Cleanskin 05 Cabernet Merlot Shiraz $60 a case $168.00
The exact same blend that made our roxy red or premium red, this cleanskin is drinking well, the cabernet has softened and smoothed out to make a rich soft smooth Margaret River Cabernet Merlot, Beaufort Street Merchants like it, as they stock it as their Cabernet Merlot of choice, we think it is a great buy particularly since there is no markup in our sale price making it incredibly affordable for all concerned

Where did you find the details on the cleanskins for $60?

I have looked around the website but can't seem to find them?

    Cheers :)
  • nod2008/01/15 19:41:03
Hot vote from me.. that is a great price when you factor in the free shipping to Perth and the low cost shipping to the other states.

I can't seem to find the cleanskins either Raveclan
  • nod2008/01/15 19:41:57
Q Wines has sold out of all its 06 Whites, and several of its 05 Reds, we are now into our Cleanskin 07 Rose, so don't wait, seize your opportunity

They do say this on the front page but when you follow the link below the notice.. there is nothing about clean skins :D
  • admin2008/01/15 19:55:44
very good find voteoften - thanks. Have given you a hot.
  • voteoften2008/01/15 21:59:00
The new priicng came in the form of an email. If you want the pricing sheet, either sign up for their newsletter, email them, or pm me. I will see if I can find out where the order form with the priocing is online. These people obviously want the sales, so they won't be particular where you found out about it.:p

I would be very interested in hearing about the tasting next weekend. There are lots of crappy wines out at the moment. MR has a good rep, but still some shockers could be turned hese wines are very young and are all reds, except for the rose. The whites have sold out, probably due to this being more suitable weather for whites. The reds may still be good, just hard to sell at the moment.
  • nod2008/01/16 00:13:24
With the reads, if they are quite young you could always keep them for a bit :)
  • ravenclan2008/01/16 11:12:30
Will let you know how the tasting goes. Have been past the winery a few times but never stopped in, though if its good I might just buy them out :p - would make great pressies for Fathers Day etc!!

Happs (in Dunsborough) are pretty good, they have 02/03 vintage Shiraz for about $25.

Another good one is Peacetree in Marg River, small family run winery, they do preservative free too, try and get some of their 2001 Cab Sav, about $60 a bottle but worth it :D
  • admin2008/01/16 11:16:11
most of the Happs I've drunk is nice. They've been around for absolute donkeys.

Colin emailed me this morning and said he was going to update the website to show the new pricing.

    Thanks webster.

It starts to make me a little suspicious when we start getting this sort of feedback. If you put an ad out that states a price stick with it.
  • lilpretzel2008/01/16 23:48:52
Now this was taking from the site, they do state it's $60 a case.

I would be giving the a call and saying you have advertised it for that price.

:) - the dangers of having a bunch of rampant bargain hunters checking your site
  • voteoften2008/01/17 01:34:27
Who knows? IN this instance, as they are small and closing down their business, I would have to save give them the benefit of the doubt. Who knows what is going on in so far as what tasks are being done and who is being called in to help. Whoever gave the wrong price may have had their last shift when it was $80 a case. They should honour it, esp if it is now on the website.....

I think if you have trouble getting the price you ask for this Colin guy. He is the one who owns/owned the business and he is in charge, so I would have to say what he says goes.

All that said, if they still refuse, burn em.
  • admin2008/01/17 09:59:28
either way - its still a pretty good price at 80 or 60
  • Webster2008/01/17 12:50:44
aagh .... they've changed the header listed price from $60 to $80 but left the $60 tag in the following description. I agree that $80 is still good (especially inclusive of Perth postage) ..... just haven't tasted it ..... and I get a cleanskin shiraz from liquorland for $6 that I really enjoy ... though its not from Margaret River. Anyone get a tasting let us know (please).

I say if you really like your $6 cleanskin, stick with that. Esp if they have changed the price.
  • ravenclan2008/01/17 14:40:38
I emailed them yesterday and Colin emailed back the price list of red specials (whites are sold out) which I printed out, definately says the cleanskin 07 shiraz $60 on the header, so I will just take that in with me when I'm down there on Monday and see what they say to that :p

Will let you all know how the tasting goes :D :D :D

I thought the labelled 06 Cab Shiraz for $80 sounds pretty good too but I haven't tried a cab shiraz before.......
  • nod2008/01/17 21:39:02
Hey yeah!! Tell us about the tasting for sure :w00t:

I am quite fond of cab shiraz...... prefer a merlot or merlot mix but you can get some really nice shiraz's my humble opinion of course and I am no wine expert :D
  • admin2008/01/17 21:57:19
shiraz would have to be one of my favorites on its own.
