excellent deal! just put my preorder in, cant wait for this to come out...I've played the Japanese version on a friend's console, but have no idea what it's saying lol. it's a lot of fun though :)
  • craftykiwi2008/04/14 14:28:02
I put our order in today too - we all need to get a lot fitter. Glad to hear you enjoyed the Japanese version. That would have been quite handy in our house for son to practice his Japanese.

ahhh - I'm wrong. Interesting idea from nintendo. I'll give them credit for trying to break out of the couch potatoe mould.
  • beejean2008/04/14 18:03:43
JB Hifi and Toys R US are selling it for $130 as well
  • admin2008/04/14 18:20:21
    Thanks beejean.
  • beejean2008/04/20 13:39:03
No worries. Plus if you preorder now ($130 from toys r us, you will get $20 gift card for your next purchase
  • craftykiwi2008/04/20 16:55:34
Good deal. If I didn't have the voucher from the Buckscoop competition to use when I purchased ours (as well as the $1 delivery and Cashback bonus), then I would have seriously considered this option to purchase from.

Just got an email last night saying our one had been dispatched. Pretty impressed since not supposed to be available until May 8th.
  • stonedewok2008/05/05 13:59:38
I also got an email last week regarding dispatch...but nothing yet so far (wishful thinking!).

Looks like it will be close to 8th May after all....Craftykiwi have you received yours yet?
  • craftykiwi2008/05/05 14:15:48
Not yet. Thought it might be today, but hopefully tomorrow.
  • admin2008/05/05 17:47:15
what sort of exercises do they get you doing on this ?? I havent read a description of the games.
  • craftykiwi2008/05/05 19:09:42
So far I've heard of yoga and push-ups, but not sure what else yet.
  • lum2008/05/05 20:26:39
with the 20 dollar coupon for TrU, i THINK you might be able to use it straight away, taking it down to 110.
The next cheapest option is Kmart at 119aud.
  • nod2008/05/06 09:17:45
And don't forget that if you can use the $15 Dstore/Paypal offer on this item :)

I wonder how long it will take someone to sue nintendo after having done themselves an injury :)

I see BigW has this out at $118 at the moment (until May 14th)
  • stonedewok2008/05/08 11:50:16
kiwi, any sign of your wii fit yet???
I'm kinda getting worried now; it wouldve been cheaper and better if I had just gone to Kmart / Big W/ Toys R Us after all...

bugger - the price you pay for "convenient" delivery aye
  • craftykiwi2008/05/08 12:13:13
No no sign yet, but I checked the email and it does say up to 10 days. Also checked the consignment number to track it but no info except that it is on its way.

I agree would have been quicker to go elsewhere assuming they have plenty of stock, but for us it wouldn't have been cheaper as I had some vouchers that reduced the price and free delivery.
Only thing I can say in their favour is it wasn't due out until May 8th so they could have sent it after that day and we would have been waiting much longer.

I guess an email to them can't hut to see when the courier is expected since we need to be home for delivery and it would be nice to have a rough idea of when it'll roll up.

Just received this email back from dStore:-

Please be aware that with Pre-Orders as per our website this item is expected to be released on 8th May, 2008. Order this item and it will be dispatched immediately when it's released. (* Release Dates are subject to change)
We despatch the product within our usual delivery timeframe however once it is in the hands of a third party i.e. Australia Post or a courier the delivery time is out of our control. However tracking of the order is possible on the Australia Post website with the consignment number specified in your despatch notice.
Despatch notices were generated and emailed automatically upon allocation of stock although the orders were held back for several days due to the strict release date set by Nintendo.

So looks like you can't trust the email that we first received saying it was on its way.

Ha - thats a bit slimey.

what sort of exercises do they get you doing on this ?? I havent read a description of the games.

There are 4 sections - Balance Games, Aerobic Exercises, Yoga and Muscle Workouts.
So far have just tested it out under Balance Games. There are four games/exercise here including skiing, ski jumps and soccer, but as you do more exercise each day you earn points in your piggy bank and can unlock more exercises.

how does yoga work on a wii fit ?? How long you remain in salute to the sun determines whether you get dog pose next ??

    Lucky you!

Nothing for me yet! I got it sent to my work so I can definitely sign for it WHEN it comes...

Was it delivered by trackable courier? The email I got doesn't have any sort of tracking code, it just says delivered by normal mail
  • craftykiwi2008/05/09 12:25:51
It was delivered by an Aus Post delivery van and yes we had to sign for it.
In the dispatch email just under the order details there should be a consignment number and then further down a link to Aus Post tracking that will tell you where it is at the moment.

    What's in the Parcel?

Haven't tried it yet but it's all about balance at the beginning to determine your centre of gravity and how good your posture is so I guess it works on a similar principle. Not sure what poses they will offer up but must be better for me personally than the push-ups.

Saw my son trying hoola hoops this morning - not only moving his hips to keep it moving but also trying to catch other hoops that were thrown to him in the middle of the exercise.

Also saw him going for a jog along a park path, following his personal trainer, but again not sure whether I'm up to that either.
  • stonedewok2008/05/09 15:37:51
thanks for that craftykiwi, i think that was the first sign of a problem for me - no consignment number or any sort of number for that matter...

anyways, after a few phone calls, i ended up getting a refund from dstore and buying from Toys R Us who price matched Big W at $118.

Apparently austpost stuffed up big time with 200+ pre orders from dstore - losing parcels, not dispatching on time etc....unfortunately mine was one of those left behind /not delivered.

To Dstore's full credit they were extremely helpful when I called them regarding the stuff up and were more than happy to help me out or simply refund my money. Thumbs up to them!
  • craftykiwi2008/05/09 16:44:02
Yes, I agree dStore seems to do well in the customer service department so glad to hear that in the end their problem meant you got the item cheaper - maybe fate stepped in.
Anyway enjoy your new toy and hope you get a better Wii Fit Age than I did (mine's 61!!! - have a long way to improve - then again a few health problems are never going to bring me back to what I should be).
On the positive side it says I'm not overweight and am very flexible.
  • admin2008/05/09 18:12:24
they have wii fit ages ... I guess they would. Ha
