Is that a free $50 deposit or should it read $50 deposit required to open the account? Couldn't see the former anywhere and guessing they aren't that generous, but a bit ambiguous.

It's a free $50 deposit, there's more info about the offer in this months Money Magazine. Have a look here - at the very bottom it mentions it.

does anyone know if we have to present the magazine? or if there is a code? As you can only apply in person . It does say on the phone but it also says you need to provide your medicare card for proof of identitiy.

I don't think you need a voucher to be honest, I mean, it says on the site that you can ring or call in with no mention of a voucher? Just as long as you bring ID.

I think you need the original coupon from Money magazine to get the $50.

Reader offer: our readers can get a free $50 deposit voucher when they open a NAB Smart Junior Saver Account.

Does anyone have the July issue to check out the details for us?

Original Coupon needs to be handed in for the $50 deposit. I opened one 2 days ago.

The magazine is $6.95 from the newsagency or Woolies. Not sure if Coles stocks it. You will need the original voucher from the second last page, but you can use a photocopy if you have more than one child registering. No minimum deposit. The process take about ten to fifteen minutes per child, closer to ten. In the end you have an account number, no card. Internet or phone banking only or withdrawl / deposit at the counter. No fees / charges until 18. Internet registration takes about five minutes at home via nab.com.au using temporary phone password and account number. $50 is credited next business day apparently. Money for jam.

    Yes, that's fine.

If your kids want to transfer their money from the NAB account to their own account online, they have to fill out a separate form at the bank to allow them to do that.

A clever way around it is to get them to pay part of a BPay bill of yours from their account and then just give them the $50 directly. I couldn't be bothered going back to the bank to fill in another form for each child and then waiting for it to go through the system.

It really is money for jam.

Where do you get a back copy of this Mag? I would love to open two accounts for the kids.

    Cheers
