Does anyone have something similar ? How do they go with the limited hard drive space? I thought recording would just eat the drive or do they use a pretty severe compression algorithm?

I've got an 80 gig one and I don't have too many issues, but I tend to watch something then delete it, not leave it sitting there. I think from memory, 80GB is supposed to give 40 hours of recording, so I imagine 160GB will give close to 80 hours.

This DVD recorder is back on sale for the same price with OO.com.au sale. The fact that it was the same price one year ago and OO.com.au are still trying to get rid of it does not fill me with confidence.
It is a Teledex brand that comes with a 12 month warranty. A reasonable price for a 160gb dvd recorder.
You can also pick up the 80gb for $139.95 - the 160gb is a much better buy
